Darn it so does that mean that the sly Cooper one that was scheduled for that year will move to 2017 now? I really hope not.

Another delayed game, Sony must have some announcements for E3

slinky1234563264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

Well the game will have to release sometime near the movie for cross advertisement. Giving both more time for polish.

Transistor3264d ago

Once I saw the movie was delayed, I knew this was inevitable.

DarkOcelet3264d ago

Thats a shame, but hopefully the delay give them time to perfect the game. I know it will be awesome.

So that means U4/SFV/R&C/The Division/Quantum Break are in 2016. I wonder whats next...

And i am gonna be honest here when i say i wouldnt mind the delay since this year still have Witcher 3/MGSV/Arkham Knight/Just Cause 3/Mad Max/Persona V.

So thats over 1000 hours will be spent completing those games so its awesome.

Chris0923264d ago

Maybe Sony will announce a holiday game this E3 like they did with Littlebigplanet 3.

DarkOcelet3264d ago

I think they have one, its Tearaway Unfolded.

Chris0923264d ago

But that title is already announced the title. I mean an unannounced title.

pivotplease3264d ago

Could be unannounced or maybe we'll get more news on something we know about like Hell Blade or Horizon or, in a perfect world, the last guardian lol.

kratoz12093264d ago

So excited for persona 5.
Hope everyone who enjoys rpgs gives it a go.

DarkOcelet3264d ago

I am so hyped for P5.

I cant believe its not gathering much attention. I am as excited for it as i am for MGSV and Witcher 3.

pivotplease3264d ago

I'm more excited, though Witcher's review scores are very promising so far. My hype level for MGSV has been non-existent since I played Ground Zeroes but that could be remedied with time. Although Konami forcing Kojima to make the game and him being fired really don't help the game's rep. How much passion did Kojima really put into the game? My guess is less than any of the previous games.

polow got sol3264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

Can you fix the title so it says that the game is delayed into 2016 thanks. Also, this is a big blow to an already subpar year of exclusives for the ps4.

Transistor3264d ago

The PS4 did not have a sub par year for exclusives.

http://www11.pic-upload.de/...

magiciandude3264d ago

How many of those PS4 exclusives are currently only released in Japan, remastered old games, games that bombed with the majority of major reviewers and, uh, delayed games until next year?

gangsta_red3264d ago

I see a lot of re-masters, Japan only games, niche titles, cross platform games and...and...MX vs. ATV...are you serious?

Transistor3264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

http://www.listwar.com/

It's almost mind blowing that people still try the 'no games' argument still.

Then try to define what counts as a game like a weirdo.

Give it up, it's over.

SoapShoes3264d ago

You guys and your turd arguments always trying to discredit any games released. The fact is the PS4 has had a better year than its competition so far which is bone dry and will have a better summer as well. Some games, regardless of what they are, is better than none at all. Period.

Now the holiday is TBD, but I wouldn't be happy with my system if I had to wait 8-10 months between any AAA exclusives.

pivotplease3264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

For retail we've already seen Bloodborne, MLB, and The Order. A lot of top tier indie games also fall into this year like Super Stardust, Fat Princess, Rime, probably The Witness, etc. Then at the end of the year we're due for Persona 5. I do feel like there needs to be something else at the end of the year (there will be) but the year has been well rounded compared to the competition and there are some strong multiplats this year that could steal a lot of the limelight from the AAA exclusives anyway.

Edit: I will probably also get Tearaway Unfolded despite owning the excellent Vita version.

magiciandude3264d ago

"It's almost mind blowing that people still try the 'no games' argument still.

Then try to define what counts as a game like a weirdo."

That's not the point of the conversation. Either you're spinning things around for your own convenience or you simply lost train of thought. You said "The PS4 did not have a sub par year for exclusives," posted a link to a list backing your statement up and I stated why I disagree that this year is not sub par for the PS4, using no less the same list.

This generation is terrible for exclusive content, no doubt about that. The best years of gaming is long behind us. You can post a list of how many indies PS4 has over the Xbox One and I am going to say they're just a bunch of irrelevant, forgettable games with quality on par with iOS games. I am not at all interested in the whole "PS4 has no games" because everyone knows that's false. The quality of games on the PS4 is very debatable. That's something we can agree on. The lineup for PS4 could've been much better by a year and a half from launch, but so far we've only seen one game that's actually groundbreaking. One...

DigitalRaptor3264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

@ Transistor

So well said, it's not even funny. ;)

The evidence is right where you left it, and the only thing left for people to do is to make excuses as to why games don't count. Looking ahead in an attempt to discredit what cannot be.

That's right we've had Bloodborne (and plenty of other games that are not on the other consoles). PS4's summer is rock solid in terms of quality games that are not on the competitions' consoles. We might as well try and discredit all the Xbox One exclusives so far this gen, because the only ones that "count" under the same criteria these Xbox dudes are looking at, were either on PC at the start or have come to PC less than a year after.

The excuses.... "Oh it's Japanese".... "oh it's niche"... "oh it's indie". Bloodborne has already proved that what was considered niche last-gen will not under any circumstances be tied to that same definition this generation. Especially not now that JRPGs (of of the most niche genres last gen) are proudly making a strong return on a console that is practically mirroring the PS2 days.
----

@ magiciandude

Your opinion on indies is your own. But given a reality check, there are more higher rated indie games on both consoles than AAA exclusives. Your assessment of these games having "quality on par with iOS games" is seemingly based on nothing but a visual style or a game's budget.

All this while, you seem to enjoy revelling in ignorance, by overlooking massive indie games that could never perform or function well on an iOS device, and actually look fantastic as stand alone gaming experiences. RiME, No Man's Sky, WiLD, The Witness, SOMA, Elite: Dangerous, The Forest, Hellblade, Killing Floor 2, ARK: Survival Evolved, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Yooka Laylee - many of which look to be holding their own against some of the bigger retail releases, and deservingly.

"Forgettable" is funny because the ideas in these games are more original and unique than most AAA games you see released.

And nope, the quality of games on PS4 is not up for debate unless you want to conveniently filter out great games. The PS4 has the higher rated games than the Xbox One. Xbox One doesn't even have a single AAA-rated platform exclusive, whilst PS4 has 3 and counting.

Transistor3264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

"I stated why I disagree that this year is not sub par for the PS4, using no less the same list"

No, you didn't. Don't back track.

"How many of those PS4 exclusives are currently only released in Japan, remastered old games, games that bombed with the majority of major reviewers and, uh, delayed games until next year?"

That's a whole bunch of excuses and trying to displace the relevance.

That's like me saying about the Xbox One.

Ori doesn't count because it's an indie, Tomb Raider because it's timed, Sunset Overdrive doesn't count because no one bought it, Forza Horizon 2 doesn't count because it sold bad, Gears doesn't count because it's a remaster, Fable Legends because it F2P, Ryse because it's on PC, Dead Rising because it's on PC, Titanfall because it's on 360 and PC.

It's all true, but all dismissive of them being games on Xbox One.

gangsta_red3264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

Exactly what Magiciandude said. The statement made was that PS4 had a sub par year for exclusives.

Posting a link showing those games doesn't disprove that Transistor. In my honest opinion that list you provided only proves just how sub par the PS4 exclusives are and that is why I said, cross platforms, re-masters, and Japan only niche titles.

Besides Bloodborne which is a fantastic game, that list is not compelling or anything to be excited about and as Polow said very sub par year so far. Thanks for providing the examples we needed.

Of course you spun it as a "No Games" argument and that is why you were quick to post that list to a bunch of games that no one has talked about or made a huge fuss over and also why Digital and others are quick to back you up even though that was not what was being discussed.

@Digital
"..and the only thing left for people to do is to make excuses as to why games don't count."

Where did anyone say those games don't count? It's like you read what you want to read without using "logic or facts".

oasdada3264d ago

Pointless debate. Haters gonna hate.. and what piss me of the most are hypocrites.. god of war remaster booooo.. gears of war remaster yayyy

magiciandude3264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

"Your opinion on indies is your own. But given a reality check, there are more higher rated indie games on both consoles than AAA exclusives."

Uh, last I checked many iOS games are also highly rated...

"RiME, No Man's Sky, WiLD, The Witness, SOMA, Elite: Dangerous, The Forest, Hellblade, Killing Floor 2, ARK: Survival Evolved, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Yooka Laylee - many of which look to be holding their own against some of the bigger retail releases, and deservingly."

Or Doki Doki Universe, Don't Starve, Hohokum, Ether, The Unfinished Swan, Oli Oli 2, Towerfall, The Lost Orbit, We Are Doomed, Woah Dave!, Pix The Cat, Cosmophony, Schrödinger’s Cat and the Raiders of the Lost Quark, etc.

Not saying they're bad, but let's keep it real here, most of these are capable of running on a mobile device, hence why I say mobile quality.

"Xbox One doesn't even have a single AAA-rated platform exclusive, whilst PS4 has 3 and counting."

Like God of War Remastered and The Last of Remastered? Is porting a couple of last-gen games and co-developing a game with a third party seriously the best Sony ever did for the PS4? Yes I am going to filter them out. They are NOT exclusive to PS4 if they're like 95% the exact games on another platform regardless if it's Sony's or not. They're great games, but they are games from last gen.

@Transistor

"No, you didn't. Don't back track."

Yeah I did. The Order is a game that flopped with the majority of major reviewers across the media, as well as the umpteen little independent gaming sites floating around the internet. Bloodbourne is the only PS4 exclusive that exceeds a 9 across the board and is widely received by gamers anywhere as a must have. Hyperdimension Neptunia VII is on that list and it's only in Japan. Oddly enough I have it because I imported it, but it's not officially released in the West until probably next year. I also see other games only available in Japan so yeah they don't count unless you import them or you live in Japan. Ratchet & Clank is also on that list, but that's delayed until next year, as per topic, so it's going to get scratched off. There's also an abundance of cross-gen and PC/7th gen games, some which are also available only in Japan like One Piece.

So yeah I used the same list, and yeah I think this year is pretty mediocre in terms of exclusives because of reasons listed above. :)

Also it's hilarious how FFX/X2 HD and Super Street Fighter is under the +PC/7th gen tab while GoW III is under PS4 only, even though they're just straight up ports...

So, Transistor, how many games on that list are actually exclusive to PS4? More than the Xbox One I know, but that doesn't change the fact that your PS4 list is extremely biased.

wegetsignalx3263d ago (Edited 3263d ago )

PS4 has more exclusives, more highly rated exclusives, and more highly rated games overall than XB1.

XB1 has higher rated shooters and racing games. PS4 has more genre variety and higher rated games in other genres.

So I guess if this year is subpar so far for Sony the other guys must be having an atrocious year.

magiciandude3264d ago

Halo 5, Tomb Raider, and Forza doesn't seem atrocious. PS4 lost two of the biggest PS games until next year, and Bloodborne is the only critically acclaimed game of the entire exclusive catalog thus far. 2015 doesn't look like the year that every PS4 owner was waiting for. Quite far from it...

lifeisgamesok3264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

Halo 5, Fable Legends, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza 6, Gears of War remaster, State of Decay, Ori and the Blind Forest

How??

remixx1163264d ago (Edited 3264d ago )

Well if I had to agree with you guys, I'm sick of songs delays.....I honestly have to say its my biggest issue with them, I love their games I just don't get them when promised

Sony needs to be careful. They don't want to end up the next ubisoft.

SoapShoes3264d ago

Try harder dude. It has more than the competition.

wegetsignalx3263d ago

PS4 has a great year of exclusives in 2015.

Retail: The Order: 1886, Bloodborne, MLB 15: The Show, Toukiden: Kiwami, Omega Quintet, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Onechanbara Z2: Chaos, J-STARS Victory VS+, Godzilla, God of War III Remastered, Deception IV, Disgaea 5, Dragon Quest Heroes, Persona 5, Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, Journey.

Digital: Deep Down, Helldivers, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Rime, The Tomorrow Children, What Remains of Edith Finch, Super Stardust Ultra, Kill Strain, Drawn to Death, WiLD, Shadow of the Beast, and more.

Lets see just how widespread these issues are... doesnt make a bit of sense because the game was made for amd hardware.

: oh its just complaining over amd's poor implementation of things on the pc side.

PunksOnN4G266d ago

Why would it be its obvi on AMD drivers

mkis007266d ago (Edited 266d ago )

Maybe you are not up to date on the current state of AMD's Raytracing support and FSR.

Please tell me were you got never sony from in my comment?

ModsDoBetter266d ago

"Please tell me were you got never sony from in my comment?"

This is a first party title.
Released and poorly optimised. You jump straight to AMD being completely at fault as if TLoU PC port didn't happen.

Christopher266d ago (Edited 266d ago )

AMD themself said it was a driver issue.

generic-user-name266d ago

You should probably make sure it is Sony before trying to fling mud.

ModsDoBetter266d ago

@Generic with the cope:

From DigitalFoundry,

"The comparison, which was shared by Digital Foundry, was accompanied by a written analysis that goes over some of the port's best features, such as good scalability, which allows players with the proper hardware to enjoy much better visuals than on PlayStation 5 and those with underpowered machines to have still a decent experience barring some stuttering, and issues, such as missing transparency effects at max settings, texture loading issues, shadows issues with ray tracing enabled, stability issues and more. With the additional disabling of ray tracing on AMD GPUs due to stability issues, it feels like this is yet another port that was launched in an unpolished state and that will require multiple patches to be in a truly acceptable one."

"it feels like this is yet another port that was launched in an unpolished state and that will require multiple patches to be in a truly acceptable one."

This is not solely an issue with AMD, the port is "yet another" with missing features.

AMD has always been crap compared to Nvidia. The only advantage they have is price.

DarXyde266d ago

And power efficiency. And arguably better performance on 1080p/1440p cards. And availability.

Nvidia cards really aren't worth hunting high and low for when there are very comparable AMD cards that are cheaper. I really have to give credit to AMD for their very frequent and consistent grind with RDNA. This issue I reckon is a developer level problem.

Can't really miss with either, but considering Jensen and Lisa are relatives, they probably laugh about these debates over a very expensive holiday dinner.

iAmyRose266d ago

Naw AMD have had instances of being good, Nvidia do have better features, raytracing and AI performance if you play with software that uses it though.

KeeseToast266d ago

@DarXyde
Power efficiency is not true at all this gpu generation. Nvidia‘s 4000 series is more power efficient that AMD 7000

DivineHand125265d ago

I believe AMD offers higher vram at lower price points compared to NVidia. We have found out that this generation needs at least 8GB to load the highest detail textures at 1080p.

This issue with the drivers will eventually be fixed for Ratchet and Clank, however, the vram issue NVidia has on their midrange and entry level cards can only be fixed by spending more money on a higher end card.

+ Show (1) more replyLast reply 265d ago
CantThinkOfAUsername266d ago

AMD has already confirmed it's a driver-related issue on their cards. Besides, AMD 'users' can't stop telling us how not important Ray Tracing is, how they always play with it off, and how it's an 'Nvidia gimmick.' This shouldn't be a problem for them I believe.

On a side note, kudos to Nixxes and Sony for releasing one of the best PC ports in 2023. Amazing graphics with Ray Tracing, great performance, detailed system requirements, plenty of graphics options, all upscaling technologies (DLSS, FSR, and XeSS), DirectStorage 1.2, and native Mouse and Keyboard support.

INMATEofARKHAM266d ago

Not surprised by an AMD driver issue... I love they are in the market and help keep Intel honest but I've had some whacked driver issues with then so I always just go with Intel anymore.

I'm sure they'll have it fixed in the coming days, if it even takes that long, just one of the joys of PC gaming.

ChasterMies266d ago

Imma just sayin’, this is why I play on consoles.

Good-Smurf266d ago

No issues at all on PS5 and some already called me being trolling yesterday.
No telling how well it will run on my PC because there's too things that can go wrong there being High End Nvidia stuff and everything.

MadLad266d ago

Consoles are highly limiting; and when devs screw up optimizing their games on console, you're screwed. You don't have the option of powering through it.

Binarycode266d ago

That's why always wait and see what the game plays like on any device before you buy.

I think they've done a good job porting it to pc, but it needs to be able to run on lower end cards and should have a ram indicator to show how much video ram is being used.

ChasterMies265d ago

That’s why I play on PS5. The user base is so big, devs can’t afford to screw up optimizing their games for it.

MrVux000265d ago

Looking at the overall state of PC gaming and its ports of AAA games for the past 3-4 years vs consoles ports.

Not really helping your case.

1nsomniac266d ago

People never listened when I said that this game doesn’t use “real” ray tracing on PS5. I believe it uses a very clever advanced/modified screen space reflection system. Which is why the real ray tracing doesn’t work on pc.

Outside_ofthe_Box266d ago

Does it matter? I thought we were past this "real" nonsense. The end results matter more. If you can't distinguish, who cares. If it allows for better/more stable frame rate who cares. MS f'd everything when they started using terms like "true" and "real" in their marketing when they launched the One X last gen. People are finally starting to realize that "True 4K" doesn't matter if you have to sacrifice framerate to achieve it. In the end something always has to give if you are truly pushing the hardware.

Binarycode265d ago

Raytracing reflections are used on PS5 as they are in Spiderman, Same engine. tested by professionals with first hand knowledge.

PC Ray-tracings problems are bugs and on AMD side a driver issue.

Lastly if AMD want to compete in the RT space, they need to come up with a solution. As in a unique chip to do it, not just make the gpu with some driver things help it. It's miles behind Nvidia.

We needed remakes of Jak and Daxter more than pumping out an unnecessary "remake" of Last of Us.

Then again, we're hilariously now getting a "remake" of Horizon Zero Dawn, so Sony is already outdoing themselves.

neutralgamer1992506d ago

😂 man really HZD just came out

MadLad506d ago

People on here go at me because I always take jabs at Sony, but it's because I want to see them do better.
Do they make great games? Of course. As of this gen does their ecosystem suck? I'd say definitely yes.

They're becoming more anti consumer by the day.

neutralgamer1992506d ago

Mad

It's not PlayStation bro it's Jimbo and his cronies thinking the success of because of them and not guys like Shawn layden, Andrew house etc

MadLad506d ago

I get that. Jim needs to go. At the same time, we're still the consumer, and Sony is still the people doing the hiring and writing the checks. They need to stop turning a blind eye to how Playstation is being handled right now and get things back on track.

This isn't last generation. Xbox is real competition again. You're seeing a lot of people getting tired of what they're doing with the brand the last couple of years.

Vengeance1138507d ago

God of War? Hello? Is Kratos not a PS2 mascot? Hard to think that he's not.

SonyStyled507d ago

Beat me to it. When I read the headline I was like “huh?”

Lifexline507d ago

I don’t think so for some reason the title mascot is always given to “platformers” characters like Mario in particular when it comes to games.

Miscrosoft tried d to make master chief it’s mascot but it never really stuck because those characters appeal to a small percentage of gamers.

Vengeance1138507d ago (Edited 507d ago )

God of War on PS2 does have platforming elements in it, if Jak & Daxter and Ratchet can be considered platformers with the inclusion of minor platforming elements in them then so can God of War.

What a mascot is though is simply a game series based around a "named character". Solid Snake is a mascot, Gabe Logan from Syphon Filter is a mascot, Lara Croft is a mascot etc... we really don't get many franchises based around a single named protagonist anymore.
Master Chief is 100% Microsoft's mascot and yes he does appeal to a very wide range of gamers. He's a space marine much akin to the Terran in Starcraft, whats not to love.

darthv72507d ago

blinx was the xb mascot, not master chief. but they gave up on blinx after the 2nd game which is sad as there was lots of potential there. They should bring him back.

abstractel507d ago (Edited 507d ago )

So the definition of a mascot is that they have to be cartoony and platform characters? Makes little sense to me.

Mascot, Icon, whatever word you want to use, Kratos is definitely part of that Playstation definition. And yeah, Master Chief is one for Xbox for whatever it's worth.

Levii_92507d ago

Nahh we don’t need these kind’s of games we need more walking slimulators like Naughty Dog games and remakes of games that aren’t even 10 years old because they make money right Sony. The fact that R&C is still around AND still good is a goddamn miracle that i’m very grateful for.

Z501507d ago

"We need more walking Simulators"

Like Hellblade 2?

solideagle507d ago

lol it's funny how your only game is about Sony games because Microsoft has no games to compare to :p

Smellsforfree506d ago

Which is absolutely fine since he wasn't comparing Sony to MS in his comment to begin with.

shinoff2183507d ago (Edited 507d ago )

Its obvious your just hating levii92. You can call last of us whatever the f you want Ill call it one of the best games Ive played. Also if you cant see the huge drastic difference in graphics between a ps3 and subsequent remaster to ps4 which didnt change the looks to much to a remake for ps5 where the graphics are phenomenal then thats on you lil guy. And its far from a walking simulator Id guess you never even played it.

Truth is the last of us is fantastic and if you dont wanna pay that much for it wait, if you even play ps which I doubt. It was just 50 bucks everywhere. Im still waiting until its 30 or so cause I dont like to spend over 30 40 bucks on any games these days.

On the bright side atleast you can stand in the corner or something cause I know the other system doesnt have alot going on these days.

TheEnigma313507d ago

Bitter because your console can't produce games lol.

SonyStyled507d ago
