Nintendo has been known to make many great games in the past and they always focus on the experience and the fun aspect of the game rather than simply beefing it with technical terms. With the Wii U, the Big N has been trying to exploit the power of having the Gamepad as a controller for a game in a way that made indispensable. This is where a new IP is born: Splatoon. Conveying the ideas thought by the many new and creative minds at Nintendo, Splatoon is a competitive yet friendly game that anyone can simply pick up and play, but will take them hours to master. That said, as I play I have come to realize that Splatoon is more and it has the potential to reach many competitive goals. This third-person shooter has every characteristic to be called an honorary member of the MOBA genre, with some slight differences. Who knows? Nintendo might apply some of these ideas.
