Network maintenance tonight, bringing deeper PayPal integration and more payment options onto the PlayStation Store
I doubt they will, barely anyone uses bitcoin.
Bitcoin is kinda preforming strangely friend....there was some uncomferting new about bitcoin months ago, I forgot but I was like forget it...not worth investing in now. Something about bankruptcy. Then banks possibly buying in on it or creating their own. I dont think Sony should risk something like that with the PlayStation brand. I'd rather them let people use food stamps to buy games...er...gamestamps...
hope they allow to use paypal without any c.c. info on the my psn account
I always just buy a digital code for X amount from amazon and use that to buy stuff on the store.
You can already use PayPal, you've been able to do this for a while.
yes but still require to have a c.c. register on psn and i don want that
sig: i got paypal on my Sony account withput a credit card
Agreed. Also, the ability to change your PSN ID is sorely lacking.
stop making stupid names
Right! My Psn is the same across all systems and I've had it for over 11 years because I sat down and thought of one I really liked.
It's not easy to get a PSN ID you like. Nearly everything you think of is already taking. I don't see what the big deal is. If Sony charged $10 to change your PSN they'd make a fortune. I want that option. Edit: How anyone could disagree for having the option the change their PSN is beyond me.
Make a new psn id.
"Make a new psn id." All your digital content and trophies are locked to your account.
"My Psn is the same across all systems and I've had it for over 11 years" ...PSN hasnt been around for 11 years. It launched in 2006.....How did you manage to get a PSN ID before it was even invented?
@infected Digital content can be shared To urself regardless of psn id. Make a new id and start collecting those trophies again. It'll be fun. Whats ur trophy level?
@kreate I'm not a trophy collected so I'm way down there. Think I've got a little over 390 and halfway through lvl 7. I don't play many games. It's just the ones I do choose to play I play a lot.
@kreate "Digital content can be shared To urself regardless of psn id. " Guessing you've never owned a Vita? The Vita is tied to one accounts content at a time :/
I do have a vita. Check my trophies. But I wasnt thinking about the vita. Vita is a niche systEm. And I was very disappointed when I learned it couldn't do a lot of things I was use to on the ps3. Youtube app and the maps app is gone. Cant share profiles. The system sucks. Was thinking ps3-4. Although I dont have a 4. Maybe thats why vita isn't selling? Psp os was more like a ps3. Wish they just use that on the vita.
@Moldiver The PS2 Network maybe? I have used my user name since the PS2 network as well as my e-mail address. But I can't remember it it was transferred over to PS3 or I had to make it.
Make PSN work with P.O. boxes Sony! Its been 9 years of not using my credit card on there and even the Wii allowed this
Are we gonna be able to buy stuff with Platinum tropies now?
This sounds like a great idea. It depends on how much value they place on the platinum trophy...if they even go in this direction. Again, this would be a great idea!
It's another incentive to buy a game. But how they'd track this with all the people hacking their trophies on PS3... idk
They're adding PayPal so can I use my bitcoin?
They're not adding PayPal. It's been on there for years now. They're probably just removing the second-tier validation where you have to login to PayPal to add funds.
^^ *looks at avatar* *rolls eyes*
I looked at his name and did the same lol
Ditch the $5.00 minimum crap.
Preach that shit!. I don't know how many games on sale for $2-3 that I didn't buy because I refuse to lose extra money to console digital restriction like this. A*holes do that because they're trying to minimize their transaction fees. I can only imagine the backlash on PC if you had this $5 minimum BS just to buy a game for Steam and Origin.
or u keep the money on your account for later. not that i'm dissagreaing about getting rid of the minimum
Add bitcoin...lol. Yeah and Disney dollars too.
I can't buy laptops in Disney dollars lol
It would be great if Sony implemented the option allowing PSN users to gift games to their friends, like Steam.
So like getting a code instead of just start downloading it/activating the license when you purchase it?
That would only lead to a shit ton of customer service calls from people who let their friend access their PS4 and who went and gifted themselves a ton of games due to said access. Until they require you to enter your password every time for a purchase, regardless if you want to or not, I don't see this coming. And then, of course, we'll have people bitch about how they have to enter their password every time they buy stuff on PSN.
One thing cool of PSN is the debit card support. Xbox Live and Nintendo Network need that.
I use my debit card on my ps4 wii u and xbox one? So I don't know what your talking about
I can't use my debit card on Xbox 360 and Wii U. So yes, I know what I'm talking about.
Same, I used to use my debit card on my 360 back when I used it. Maybe it's the bank you use, I use Chase. I don't own an Xbox One so I can't say anything for that. I just use PayPal on my PS4, so I'll never know if it does. Oh wait nevermind, I've used my debit card to try out PS Now, so yeah it does.
Umm that's funny because I just bought donkey Kong 64 with my dept card off the store???
More options are always better. But Sony needs to add some features $5-10 for change of psn ID, one change per 6 months Need to add option for us to be able to buy games and send them to our friends as a gift like steam And to Xbox defense force fanboys just stop it. You guys act like Xbox live has never been hacked. Also show me some people who had their credit card info stolen when there was a big hack and shut down of psn. Since than Sony has made huge improvements. The lizard squad them self Said that psn was much harder to hack while Xbox live was simple avd straight Coming straight from hackers them self who btw knick down both psn and Xbox live. But the Xbox defense force is too blind to see that
When attacks occur, both services go down. The only difference I have seen is Sony takes longer to respond and get back up. Personal data has never been hacked from Live on a scale like PSN had. I understand that hacking like this can happen to any company. What made me lose trust with Sony is how they responded to customers. Knowing about the vulnerabilities and waiting to tell customers while PR scrambled to find a way to respond was very poorly thought out on their part. I would have preferred to have more time to contact my bank and kill my cards associated with the account. When you follow this all up with what felt like blackmail to opt out of a class action lawsuit, I can see where some people would be bitter. I spoke with my bank after this occurred. They recommended opening a separate checking account that is used only for online transactions such as PSN and Live and even ebay purchases. Only fund the accounts when making a transaction and leave a zero balance. this way if your account is hacked and the account is frozen you won't have to worry about not being able to make your mortgage or car payments. This combined with prepaid PSN and Live cards is the most secure way I have found.
ID should be like Steam: You have your main username that you use to sign in that you can never change, then you have your alias. Then you can change you alias how ever and how many times you want because your alias is not your username, just tied to it.
Sweet! bring it on! I can't wait to see what's changed.
This whole time PSN never had PayPal?
You could buy things through paypal on PSN for a while now. I guess they're just improving the way you can pay somehow.
I would like to see an option that would allow me to buy a game as a gift, so i can send it to a friend, you would be suprised how many people are paranoid about online purchases. And i would like to see a wish list aswell.
Hope they add monopoly money options I have a load of that.
