Koji Igarashi’s Spiritual Successor To Castlevania Is Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Yes, the rumours are true. Former Castlevania director Koji Igarashi is indeed working on a spiritual successor to the series, and you can finally talk about it. The game in question is called Bloodstained: Ritual of the Knight, and as you’d expect it’s being partially funded through Kickstarter.

Day one by me. SOTN ftw!!!

NewMonday1310d ago (Edited 1310d ago )

the funding on Kickstarter page is going up like crazy, could hit full funding by tomorrow

it went from 90k to 130k just while I was reading the page

2-3 hours later, reached it's goal. I haven't been this psyched since Spencer wore a Battletoad's shirt. ;)

as I type this its almost at 600k, that 2nd playable character goal should be reached soon.

Mighty No9 needed 3 days to get to the goal of 900k, this game will beat that in under a day, and MN9 made 4 million from Kickstarter.

expect the stretch goals to expand and the game fund to reach 3-5 million

I jumped in to pledge my $$. it should hit the $850k mark well before the 32 days remaining.

and someone pledged $5k... damn sweet of them. they get to help come up with an enemy in the game for doing that.

NewMonday1309d ago

its has completed all initial stretch goals in under a day, at 1 million right now, additional goal of chat codes done, local co-op goal almost done.

IGA cant think of goal fist enough lol

I may actually donate to this Kickstarter.

It's gonna be my good deed of the day.

Concertoine1310d ago (Edited 1310d ago )

Me too! Im glad to see some of gaming's greats refusing to get shafted by the companies they helped make successful. Itagaki, Inafune, Kamiya, the former Rare devs and now Igarashi all made their own studios and are making the games both they and their fans have been wanting. I have a feeling Kojima will join them too.

This is where Kickstarter lives up to its potential. Hopefully developers like Capcom and Konami see that there is still high demand for Megaman games and Metroidvania.

It's the best way to get games that we want. If only I can win the lotto I can fund these games and make my on company.

And it's on 500,000$. Guess what? It's gonna happen!!!:)

Neonridr1310d ago

holy crap that was fast. When I backed a couple of hours ago it was only at like 150k.

Here's hoping they smash all the stretch goals. I wanna see this game on the Wii U hopefully. Only fitting we have a Castlevania game on a Nintendo system.

godofboobees1310d ago

Backed and already reached its goal. There is life in gamers after all
