Though the PS3 and Wii were the new kids on the block, the sales numbers proved that Microsoft’s new console is still a hot seller. The Xbox 360 came in first with 511,000 units sold. In 2nd came Nintendo’s Wii, with 476,000 systems sold. Finally, Sony’s Blu-Ray enabled PS3 was able to sell through 197,000 systems.

To compliment Xbox 360’s dominance, Gears of War sold the most in software, with over 1 million games sold. Final Fantasy XII, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess rounded out the top three.

...statistics show the 360 to be the hottest seller, but a look at the bigger picture shows the 360 to have had the largest available inventory. I'm sure there could have been more than 511k Wii's and PS3s sold if the inventory was there.

But MSFT knew this, and milked it for what they could at the teet of GoW. Props to them for strategic planning.

I'm sure there could have been more than 511k Wii's and PS3s sold if the inventory was there too. But that did not happen.

And a month ago people (FAN BOYS) were screaming the PS3 will launch and out sell the wii and the 360. What happened? 8 ^(

Is a stupid question because you already know the answer to that. The other two (Nintendo & Sony) didnt have enough systems, so they couldnt sell more systems. I believe that if they (Nintendo & Sony) had millions of system out, then they would have sold them all. And how come the DS sold over 900,000? almot twice as much as 360. Now i know that alot of you's are gonna cry price. But the fact is that people are buying them. Now if they (Nintendo & Sony) didnt sell out their systems, than that would be news

And the 360 PWN the sales charts. Microsoft has shipped their 10 millionth console already all they have to do is sell them. They have already sold 8,000,000. History tells us the first to 10,000,000 always wins overall in sales

if GOW helped sold that many consoles, just imaged what Halo 3 can do.

Once again the Mighty DS destroys the competition.
360 rules the Next-Gen, for now.

gears sells 1 million very nice ^^. Come on 360 people the only reason they won the console sales of November is because Nintendo didn't give US 50k more to sell. Anyways the DS nearly sold 1 million units in one month no one else can come close to claiming that phrase. Also the DS has as many units in just the us as the 360 has worldwide. Now you can't say well the 360 is a console and the ds is a handheld but then say that the 360 has an exclusive when it's out on pc too.
