The video game industry continues to flourish in Canada with revenue growing 56 per cent in the first six months of the year.
Sales of hardware, software and accessories totalled $783 million during that period, according to the NPD Group which tracks the industry.
Games for Nintendo dominated June software sales, accounting for six of the top 10 titles. "Mario Kart" was No. 1, followed by "Fit," both for the Wii.
"Metal Gear Solid 4: Gun of the Patriots," for the PlayStation 3, debuted at third, followed by "Guitar Hero: On Tour" for the DS, and "Play" for the Wii.
