The Top 5 Greatest Racing Games - A Pixelated View It's Formula One season, so A Pixelated View is flooring the accelerator and taking a look at some of the best racing video games ever made.
I love racing games. I'm not to keen on the 'simulation' types (where tuning and modifications are involved). I like the simplistic nature of the arcade racer. Daytona USA, Sega GT (SCUD race in JP), Ridge Racer, Sega Rally, Indy 500, Super Monaco GP (yes, very "SEGA" heavy fan) And of course the Mario Kart games.
LeMans 24 hrs on dreamcast.
That may be the worst list I've ever read in my life.
Grid and F1 2012. Codemasters Racing at it's best, 2 fantastic racing games.
Need for speed most wanted (2005) 10 years later that game is still fun to play. just finished it again about 3 weeks ago.
The soundtrack for that PS Road Rash game is probably one of the best examples of a game using bands from the same era to create a great soundtrack. Right up there with Wipeout and Tony Hawk 1.
project gotham racing 4 gran turismo 3 daytona dirt destruction derby (first playstation)
Flatout 2 soundtrack with the better graphics and 4 more AI drivers in ultimate carnage makes for an amazing flatout game. Bugbear's new game has some serious potential but are taking forever to update the game.
Remember getting addicted to PS1 Colin McRae rally for the simple fact the game has great game play and is just legendary, the late great Colin McRae was at his peak and was considered the "god" of the WRC world during those times and the Subaru WRX STI 22B in it's signature "blue 555" British American Tobacco livery is up there with the Gulf oil and Martini Racing liveries.
