Reviewing a game requires a particular mindset. It’s not an exact science, just so long as you can articulate the larger picture and offer your own personal brand of insight. We all have our own methods of doing so. Ironically, I myself try not to review a game when actually reviewing one. I endeavour to enjoy my experience, like it was simply another game in the leisure, the same way a consumer would. Reflection comes later. To do much else would not accurately represent how the designers meant the game to be played, or how the public, your readers play it. After all, games are made with players in mind, not reviewers.
