The wait is over! the original creative team behind Banjo-Kazooie is back with a brand new game debuting on Kickstarter today. Alex breaks down the details of this bombshell.
Looks great. A little disappointed that it is a 99% copy of what they did with Banjo. I was hoping it had more of its own personality.
Lets be honest they are doing this because Rare don't know what they are doing with Banjo now. So the best thing they can do, especially when most of these guys created the Banjo games is to create something like it and continue their great work on this other franchise.
After all these years, it's difficult to expect another Banjo game like the N64 era, you are right.
Looking good for a three-month old prototype!
For being the talented Rare devs from many years ago they sure are not very original anymore. It looks lame IMO, I was hoping for something much better. Judging from what I seen in the small impression videos it lacks character. When you have to even copy the logo of Banjo Kazooie there is a problem
Do you not understand the concept of a "spiritual successor"? not to mention it has a couple years minimum to get better, this is a 3month old prototype, basically it's a low budget pitch done very quickly. 99.9% of games don't look anywhere near this pretty at this stage, it's usually all placeholder
Here's why we need Kickstarter. Projects we may never get without it!
yeah, people like to bitch about it for whatever reason, but there's already been dozens of great games that people have been wanting for SOOOOOOO long that we would have never gotten if not for kickstarter. This and Toejam & Earl being the most recent examples
And it already got funded in less than 40 mins :D!!
The gaming community is great that's why. :)
Not fond of kickstarters but this one I happily put down for :)
I still think the bat's nose should be smaller but I can overlook that--it's just huge and takes up too much of its head but whatever. I think I have to back it as its actually dirt cheap on top of being something I want.
A project that i will be glad to help funding.
Loving this trend of "spiritual successors" like Mighty No. 9.
The funding is exploding right now! And it still has 46 days to go!
