From the German retailer Saturn comes the first image and the first details about Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars.
The retailer has the new version of the toy-to-life game in its listings with a release date: 20 august 2015 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii U.

Online achievement/trophies are dumb. I’m not sure why they still include them. I recall the modern warfare games were applauded for not including them.
Unless the game is an online only game because what choice is there at that point.
Uhm trophies are fantastic, they give you real reason to keep playing a game after you beat it
If you need trophies to keep playing a game after you beat it, then is the game worth playing any further? It's imaginary points, not better gaming. Good games will be replayed regardless of imaginary points.

That logic makes zero sense. It's most definitely 'worth playing further' as you go and do things you clearly didn't do the first time....hence why do didn't get the TROPHY. It's not about better/worse gaming, it's about a replay of a game feeling fresh and not redundant.

If you need a trophy to do something and not the fact that you enjoy it, is the game actually worth playing? Seriously, how is that a foreign concept? How is that nonsensical? I guess it's nonsense to someone who plays for trophies, but that's about all you're playing for when you promote the reason for doing more to just get trophies and not because you enjoy it.

Pretty ignorant statement to have... there are lots of fun achievements/trophies to be had playing online... I've never played through the single-player campaign in any COD... but had lots of fun playing online... Companies have to be sure to cater to all gamers when it comes to achievements/trophies... a good mix is never a bad thing...
...except if you want to play a game online a couple of years later and not being able to, hence from getting all the trophies.
I’m not obsessed with getting every achievement/trophy but if I like the game I may try to. I’m simply being punished for not discovering the game earlier.
Most games... minus complete failures last much...much longer online than I believe you are giving credit for...
Half of these are false .. The Evolve one can still unlocked... Ghostbusters is only unachievable on PS3 its still online on 360.. Destiny 2 one is only unobtainable for a while as said by bungie... GTAV one can still be unlocked too in a private game. And the Black Ops 3 one can still be unlocked using a few different methods. Guy who wrote this is clueless.
When a games server goes offline then they should allow users to create their own p2p servers to keep these games active. They should also unlock or delete the trophies from any list to those who havent got them.
I can think of a few honorable mentions. there is one for smartglass seeing as smartglass is now defunct. there is also ones for 1v100 and dorito crash course 2 since both of those games are also defunct.
The Disney Infinity series has been re-released on PC, with all of each games' add-ons unlocked with a single purchase. Each of the three games can be bought individually, or in a package that effectively gets you one of the games for free.
They should bring Infinity back completely. The potential is still huge, not just the Infinity games, but they could still implement the figures, old and new, in various games (Disney, Marvel, Star Wars) accross a wide variety of genres...
The gameplay was awesome. I couldn't believe they nailed every characters abilities so perfectly. I thought they were going to all play pretty much the same at first.
I agree. My daughter and I loved playing the game together and had most of the 1.0 figures and all of the 2.0 and 3.0 figures. The problem is they made some figures that never should have been made, in part, because of movie tie-ins, like with "Time" from Alice In Wonderland. "Alice" and "Mad Hatter" were cool. They also produced too many of any one character and couldn't sell enough. If they would have worked out the math and focused more on in-demand, popular characters I believe they could have turned things around. Instead, they were getting ready to push 12" characters. I'm not sure how they thought that would be a good idea. Just poor planning all the way around. I'm so disappointed I'll never get to play as "Spider-Gwen", "Doctor Strange" or "Peter Pan" now. My kid would have loved to have the "Moana" figures. All of these were planned, too.
The characters were wayyyy tooo expensive and there were too many of them imo. Which is probably one of the reasons why this happened.
I'm amazed WWE hasn't tried the "toys-to-life" gimmick. I'd like to see them do it with a WWE All-Stars type game with a ring-shaped game pad to place the figures on, as well as tokens to set the type of matches, like a title match and/or cage match, etc.
thats not a bad idea at all, would be fun to see. we need a more user friendly wwe game than wwe2k games.

Most of us saw this coming long ago.
The moment Disney bought Marvel and Lucasarts, you could say it was instinctual to see Marvel heroes and Star Wars in Disney Infinite.
The real question now is how do they expand after that.
It was heavily hinted, so this comes as no surprise. That said, I loved Clone Wars, but it's a rather stale franchise to be attaching to the initial sale. I suppose that's the point though...how many would buy a Clone Wars playset when Rebels is the currently relevant offering on Disney?
Either way, SOLD! I'm officially out of the Skylanders race. When a company licenses amazing franchises like Marvel and Star Wars, let alone the iconic Disney attachment, it's a tough sale to deliver a generic toy-based game like Skylanders.
What nobody is mentioning is that the game itself pretty much sucks. It is a c effort at best whose sole purpose is to sell figurines.
