Seriously, Bungie? I'm ok with timed exclusive, but cutting a piece out of DLC and having it as an exclusive?

aviator1891328d ago

Well, it most likely isn't bungie.
It's probably just the deal between activision and sony.

xHeavYx1328d ago

I'm pretty sure it's a timed exclusive, just like X1 gets COD timed exclusive DLC.

pompombrum1328d ago

^^ Big difference between a month (last time I checked) timed exclusive to over a year's worth of exclusive access. Still, this argument has been had many a time and tbh, it blows my mind how any so called gamer can defend such BS practices regardless of console preference. Still in the grand scheme of things, it's a lesser of many bigger evils with what is wrong with Destiny and their practices.

The exclusive maps, Strikes, and weapons were timed. I cannot remember the exact length, but I do believe Bungie stated somewhere that all PS Exclusive content will be exclusive for a year.

Now here is the burning question...
Is it exclusive for a year from each piece's initial release OR does the year start once the final piece releases?
If it is the latter, than Xbox players won't see Monte Carlo for a LONG while.

It's probably just a timed exclusive.

FamilyGuy1328d ago

Seriously? Did you forget that this deal between Sony and Destiny existed? How are you surprised by this when there's been (timed) exclusive content in Destiny since launch and they informed us of it being in the expansions?

Allsystemgamer1328d ago

Really MICROSOFT? Buying rights to tomb raider for 6 months?! REALLY?!

See we can do that too.

Its all timed. Sony said that the Expansion I and II will be exclusive till November, same with the exclusive weapons. Not sure why people are so confused over this. They where very clear and direct over the duration of the exclusivity. We known this since E3 last year.

micx1328d ago

Tbh, that's quite a long exclusivity deal. For example, it's just a month for Call of Duty DLCs.

Business practices like this suck, but its how you get people to go with your product instead of your competitor.

Philaroni1328d ago

I know why people get upset but at the same time Sony and MS need to bring people to there system. Its not like the whole game is exclusive like Tomb Raider will be, even then its only timed. Does it suck? I guess. Though I don't see the point talking about it. Sony's MS's main goal is to please there fans, and by doing deals like this they do just that. If anyone wants to get upset do so at Bungie as they have the final say. I'm tired of people complaining about this. Gamer's seem to think none of this cost time and $$. Considering how few people complete any game now days (Just look at PS4 game trophies tells the story well.) Then complain that content was taken out or made exclusive angers me to no end.

End rant, I'm sick I have a cold, I want soup.
