Here's thefull interview conducted by GameSpot editor Danny O'Dwyer with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt senior environment artist Jonas Mattsson.
No loading times (apart from when fast travelling) is really impresive for an open world game of this size. Especially no loading times when entering buildings or dungeons etc. It really adds to the immersion and flow of the game. Wow there's so much to do and see in this game it'll be an increadible experience. I can tell that this game is not going to be good for my completionist OCD tendencies!
gta 5 has no loading times eather if i remember right and its pretty big
Why no Xbone or PS4 gameplay? It's all PC. I'm worried about the quality of the console versions to be honest.
Yeah Fromsoftware should learn a thing or two from CDprojekt.
they should make a new engine instead of using the old one.
What a dumb comment. The vast majority of loading times in Souls games and Bloodborne is either when the player character dies and the game's reloading your save file, or when using fast travel, both of which are also present in The Witcher 3. You can run through half of the game's area or more in Dark Souls 1 without having to go through a single loading screen, if you're good enough. (Firelink Shrine, Lower and Upper Undead Burge, The Depths, Blighttown, The forest, The Valley of Drakes, New Londo Ruins, Sin's Fortress.)
Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1 & 2, Bloodborne are all extremely impressive games. They are all higher rated than The Witcher Franchise. Not taking anything away from Witcher 3, just saying though.
Lights out till release. Too much info flooding in on this game; I want some things to surprise me while I play. Though, nothing in terms of story has really been spoiled for me, so that's great.
Agree I have a tendency to look into games a lot that I am getting before they are released and usually some things get spoiled. So I am trying to stay away from as much as possible.
That is very impressive.
Pants got very tight. Had no loading with the open city mod on Skyrim, twas very hot.
I thought you could sail to other islands?
You can? I believe you cannot go from the mainland coast all the way to the what we will call the 2nd core region, the Skellige islands. There are other islands dotted all around the map.You go through 1 loading screen to get to Skellige archipelago (A group of islands, 6 total.Plus little ones that are unnamed) then you can use the boat or swim to the other islands.
Im worried about the performance on consoles, might have to wait for DF analysis before picking this for one of my consoles.Im pretty sure Batman AK will be 30fps lock minimum and Metal Gear 5 60fps and because of this i already pre order them but Witcher 3 its a no go until e get certain of a steady smooth framerate.
You shouldn't be, this is cd projekt red. Witcher 2 ran on low-end gaming PCs to high end without a problem. Unlike many devs these days, they believe in optimization. http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
Can't wait to experience this game
