Bungie finally gets it. Destiny's second expansion, House of Wolves, will be making some big changes to fix longstanding issues.
can't complain that
It still might not be enough to win some people over, but you're right. Nothing to complain about here, great additions overall.
Nice additions, though many will still feel screwed over from having the next raid delayed to being paid DLC and getting a new hub that was shown before the game even released.
By "loyal" I guess they mean the masochistic ones, lol
Don't believe it until I see it in play for myself.
Really nice that the update applies to people without the seasonal pass or should I say people that won't have this dlc right away. It's actually a nice touch. They really won't be left out
Glad they're making attempts to fix some of the mistakes in Destiny, re-forging our old gear and weapons is a good start.
I don't think you can reforge the old weapons. I'm pretty sure I heard Deej mention that during feed. Only the HOW guns. However you can boost the old ones to 365 which is great!
Wow, forge was great in halo it's ashame destiny only has 2 modes, a barebones repetitive campaign and a multiplayer that really doesn't do anything special, whereas halo had a great campaign which was highly repayable, interesting and was pure fun, it's multiplayer was a stellar competitive experience and also had a social mode for non-competitive games aka big team battle, grifball, but it also had custom games where the players had control, in which they could set up they game how they wanted, it also had forge mode where players could design their maps, then play them on custom games, and it had a great horde mode (Firelight) which could either be a challenging task or just a fun game of customised wave defence, I'm starting to think I'm getting less with my money for destiny compared to Halo Reach or Halo 3... :(. Where as in Destiny you need to pay for the horde mode separately, in halo reach you just need only pay once to get the full product. Edit: I forgot to mention destiny has a fun and intuitive raid, with 6 player co-op, (which surprisingly lacks Bungee's revolutionary match making system they pioneered in 2004, which set the bar for multiplayer user interface on consoles, to a degree that many fist person shooters use it as a result, but Bungee decides not to include it for raids... Seriously ?)but there is only 1 in game aside from dlc. Another point destiny's campaign is only 3 player where as halo's is 4 player, downgrade much? Also they removed split screen which is also disappointing...
I've only just starting play Destiny again (only level 11) but I'm glad to hear this for later on.
Yeah this is a great time to get into Destiny. Will be much better once House of Wolves drops than it was at launch.
I definitely need to get back into Destiny now.
I have almost 1000 Ascendant Shards... in other words I AM RICH! In Destiny anyhow : )
The weekly update just announced that commendations will be going away and you'll be able to trade in your existing ones for 250 rep each. :) Plus Iron Banner Tuesday with Helmets available to buy!
I wonder if the rep will go to the faction of the class item you are wearing or only to vanguard? I would love to turn them all in for Dead Orbit and try to get my shaders!
https://www.bungie.net/puba... Looks it will give to faction rep like any other rep earned. But I could be wrong.
If your still loyal to Destiny, you'd take any little scrap they throw you and still say thank you
I love how one article talks about how horrible the expansion is and another talks about how great it is, I know they're just opinions but it's amazing how dramatically the opinions differ on this game lol
To be honest I already hate and love this dlc haha. So mad it doesn't have a new raid, but so happy about what they are doing with the gear.
I love the fact that there is no new Raid. This game screams for a good Horde mode, and if done the right way, and its got some interesting mechanics with in, then PoE (Prison of Elders) should provide a lot more varied content, than another half-a**ed raid like Crota's end.
You must pay them for them to respect you.
All these changes are coming to non DLC owners as well. As far as the gear, materials etc.
Wow, if only this was implemented sooner before a lot of the original player base left. too little too late.
Everyone delete your commendations! you wont need them to buy gear and weapons!
It's amazing how much they flip flop. Nerf guns. Then buff them right back. Add commendations. Remove them. Etc etc. It's pretty crazy. I've been playing since launch and the changes have been baffling. They really seem to have no idea what they're doing.
They are actually one of the few developers who listen to the community. Some changes I don't agree with but they do actually listen.
Stopped playing Destiny after the 1st expansion came out. Destiny is a great game but after the main story is complete, I am just wasting my time grinding the same maps over and over again. Why waste time playing the same maps when there are lots of great games waiting for you? Intending to pick up DS2:SotFS after I am done with Bloodborne. Its a great time to be a gamer!
I have destiny and paid a lot for it. I was truly disappointed because I worked so hard to get my gear in the vault of glass. I mean since day one of the launch I must have put in over 100+ hours just grinding my character. Then Vault of Glass came out and that added more hours. I was among the first to complete the hardcore raid with my squadmates. At the end of the day I felt accomplished. But with all the gear I got from the vault of glass, I felt that everyone else would soon have my stuff or even better. I grew bored of just running raids and nightfalls, etc. I ended up giving up on the game and still to this day have touched it. I'm not being negative but I can understand why so many people left. What I am happy for is that Bungie is finally listening to the fans and veterans of Destiny who played and grinded so much in the early days of Destiny. I made a lot of friends and now most of them have moved on like myself. It took both communities to make Bungie realize that the game needs work. I'm happy they listened and I hope the community grows again to the point where the servers need expanding. Anyways I will start playing again this weekend. If anyone has a Playstation 4 and Destiny hit me up at PathogenicKiller. Otherwise until see you in the next expansion.
Well said, that's the feeling that I was trying to describe in the article that I observed while playing.
well, that's just great. after i dismantled all that s*** lolz i would have stored it in my vault IF I HAD MORE ROOM AT THE TIME. but w/e. i'm sure other weapons will be able to replace my beloved, irrelevant shadow price... T^T lolz
If only this was their priority and they didn't spend all their time fixing glitches that shone light on the fact the game is entirely lacking in loot. I would probably still own a copy of the game. Nothing will bring me back now though. Such a lackluster game. I feel sorry for those it sucked in and hasn't let go of it. Move on to better things in life.
too little too late?
