Microsoft should have left them stay 3rd party

GamerRN5h ago

If they are let go, they can be whatever they want. They ARE 3rd party now... 🤦

Barlos2h ago

Yeah, they're also jobless.

PassNextquestion7h ago(Edited 7h ago)

Bethesda France was made up of roughly 15 people... they couldn't of being doing much

Bethesda France mainly did publishing and marketing within the region

blacktiger5h ago

that's a shame for you to say that, i'm sure Elite loves hearing what you just said.

Profchaos7h ago(Edited 7h ago)

Bethesda France focused on publishing and marketing in the region. And 15 people lost their jobs as part of the closure.

I wonder if this is part of Microsoft's strategy to abandoned physical media or possibly gamepass advertising makes their roles redundant you don't need to market a game as hard when the majority of players get the game as part of a sub which already promoted upcoming games

Tacoboto7h ago

It's France too, there's a high likelihood only 1-2 people on the team even had an Xbox.

Profchaos6h ago

Possibly guven all the leaks we know the Xbox brand is really struggling in the region.

Yi-Long3h ago

Well, if your consoles and games are barely found in any stores any more, of course you're gonna struggle finding consumers ...

XiNatsuDragnel6h ago

Tbh Microsoft I think Bethesda being 3rd party same with Activision would probably more competitive than thus scenario imo

Profchaos4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

I think it would have been better for all parties really especially gamers

TheColbertinator5h ago

The recently purchased Activision French offices might take over all the licensing and marketing for Microsoft in France from now on.

Bethesda reminds you how much you want The Elder Scrolls 6 by teasing early builds

Bethesda will do as Bethesda does, tormenting us with talk of a playable build of TES 6 on the 30-year anniversary of The Elder Scrolls series.

Playable builds is always good to know sounds like they've started full production. Still BR awhile but good to know development is goin smooth.

VenomUK29d ago (Edited 29d ago )

Whilst Elder Scrolls VI might be good, I speak on behalf of the ENTIRE N4G community when I say we'd much prefer Starfield 2 first.

RaidenBlack29d ago

eh, I want Fallout 5 before that.
(before ES6, even ... if it was possible 😈)

MrNinosan29d ago

I won't want a Starfield 2 at all.
Give me ESVI and Fallout 5... on Playstation ofc

Palitera29d ago (Edited 29d ago )

ES6 at 30 fps? Not really, thanks. Good thing the industry has evolved since Bethesda was great.

Obscure_Observer29d ago

"Playable builds is always good to know sounds like they've started full production. Still BR awhile but good to know development is goin smooth."

It will probably be a launch game for the next gen Xbox.

Fingers crossed

XiNatsuDragnel30d ago

Playable builds would be great to get those myself.

isarai30d ago

They better not mess this up i swear

Ninver29d ago

They'll find a way. If it's not $10 horse armor dlc it'll be old engine with bugs

phoenixwing29d ago

Would be nice if everything wasn't a million loading screens when it releases

QuestionMark29d ago

I lost a lot of enthusiasm for Elder Scrolls VI after playing Starfield. It was interesting, but it was still a massive disappointment for me. Elder Scrolls is different from Starfield in many ways, but I can’t bring myself to trust Bethesda with anything anymore.

phoenixwing29d ago

yeah i'm definitely going to wait a month after reviews and see what people really think of the game instead of it being day 1.

RpgSama29d ago

That one-two combo of Fallout 76 AND Starfield does not give me a lot of hope for the future.

raWfodog29d ago (Edited 29d ago )

I think it’s because some were hyping Starfield to be this ‘generational’ masterpiece when it just turned out to be an okay/good game.

Really Bethesda? Come on

We could have gotten to explore more of the regions or revisit old ones with another developer making them. Would have shortened the time between releases of the main games.

shinoff2183128d ago (Edited 128d ago )

Just thinking about what could've been. Maybe they didn't wanna be showed up on their flagship title Ala new vegas compared to fallout 3 and 4

phoenixwing127d ago

it's not that hard to show them up when they're like 20 years behind in terms of engine and development skills. If they had gotten the go ahead i guarantee it would have been better than anything they'd made recently.

anast127d ago

Bethesda didn't and still doesn't do above the bare minimum.

cammers1995127d ago

The issue here was Bethesda was butthurt that obsidian managed to develop a better fallout game at the time (new vegas) than theirs (fo3) so they didn't allow it.

OneLove127d ago (Edited 127d ago )

It's funny how they're both owned by Microsoft now. They should be able to work together now.
