Will Star Wars: Battlefront work on launch day?

MWEB GameZone writes: "Come that November release date, Star Wars fever is going to be at an absolute fever pitch. But given that EA is the publisher of record for this much anticipated game, should fans perhaps be dialing back their expectations and prepare for the worst?"

lol, one of two things will happen. There will be so much people wanting to play the servers will crash or very few people will play and its a ghost town.

"or very few people will play and its a ghost town."

Definitely not that.

Yes I'm sure it will sell very good but I already see myself playing offline versus bots on launch day because something's not working...

my crystal ball tells me it will work but with connection issues for quite a few people. i can't remember a high profile title ever having a seamless launch online. which goes to show how far we are from the reality of online only game systems.

I'm not sure. Too many rushed launches these days. I'm all for delays and "when it's done".

im feeling positive today and say it will be a stellar launch with a polished title and no patches for months :-)

Day 1 patch confirmed.

Sorry, but being optimistic and completely irrational are the same thing when dealing with day 1 patches in current gaming.

They are rampant and expected.

Long as the game works when we play it.

Battlefield hardline launch went smooth, so why would Battlefront not?

Different developers, plus it was delayed

The servers are more of an EA thing, than a developer thing. Not that EA hasn't had launch problems, but hopefully they've learned from some of their mistakes.

DICE had their hands on the Battlefield Hardline MP portion of the game, along with implementing CTE changes and fixes to help smooth out the release. It was delayed because they actually listened to the feedback we gave them on the game. (rants about not releasing the game and having BC3 instead wasn't a realistic option.) It wasn't all just Visceral for this game.

The force is with it, of course it will! Is there any news of a beta?

Hoffmann912d ago

EA is the equivalent of the Sith however in the Video Game Industry Galaxy. Soooo.....

No news so far. If anything, we'll learn about that at E3 if there is one.
