Grand Theft Auto 5 PC vs. PS4 vs. Xbox One Comparison: Foliage, Draw Distance And More

Grand Theft Auto 5 is finally available on PC. When you consider the amount of analysis done on one open world game over the past two years, it's intriguing that Rockstar's crime epic has managed to evolve so much.

"Settings included MSAA 2X and 1920 x 1080 resolution with everything dialed up. We did switch off High Resolution Shadows, Huge Detail Streaming While Flying, Extended Distance Scaling and Long Shadows though."

If you're going to do a comparison atleast max out the settings.

Agreed the point of these comparisons is to show how they look at their best

If you have the xbone or ps4 version, there is not really a good enough reason to upgrade to PC.
Even seeing GTA5 at 4K(which looks really nice), I'm still more impressed with Crysis and the Order 1886.

The game's potential lies in the mods that the community will put out. I bet in a about a year's time the pc version will truly come to its own

Well considering like 1% of people can actually run GTA V maxed out ( all advanced settings and 8x MSAA) without loads of stutter, I think that's the best you're going to get as far as comparison goes...

Damrock914d ago

I think you will find a lot more than 1% of people can run the game at max settings.

Specially if you only need to compare it at 30fps too.

I have a 3.5 year old 2500k and a GTX 970 and I can run it with 4xMSAA and all enhanced features on at 30-60 frames so you are exaggerating.

livedeht914d ago

@kraken12, that cpu may be 3.5 years old but not the gtx 970 lol also I guarantee you've added ram since then...so your not telling a complete picture ;-)....but OT, nothing can touch PC graphically this shouldn't even be up for debate lol. Not even considering mods. But play what u enjoy (lol I play the ps3 version lol can't get myself to double dip :-( lol )

Maul_T_Pass914d ago

Averaging 30-60 frames is not ideal. A solid 60fps is what people are shooting for on PC. Anything less is a choppy mess...

Besides more grass, the PS4 and X1 versions look identical, with the PC version so close that in some scenes it's hard to tell what platform looks better?

I know they are a couple of high-end settings turned off, but you have to give it to R* for making this game look great on ALL platforms, even PS3 and 360!

MrGEE914d ago

better this better that..the only diferences that actualy makes diference is 60fps and higher res option
the poping is terrible on pc ,hope future patch will solve this

--bienio--914d ago

Pc is Complete Edition and it looks absolutely stunning:) Brawo R* more games like GtaV please for Pc ( RDR2 ) . Cross the fingers R* will announce new game soon.

I'm running GTA5 on a two year old computer and it blows the PS4/XBO version out of the sky.

Just the jump to 60fps makes all the difference in the world. You will never want to go back to the PS4/XBO versions after playing it on a PC.

It's like getting chlamydia and swearing never to get that crap on your joystick again.
