Borderlands creator and franchise director, Matthew Armstrong, has left Gearbox Software. Armstrong’s departure first came to light when he sent out a series of tweets, saying “things change” and that it was “adventure time.”
thank god these devs suck, serves you right for making sH$! Games, im sorry if I offended anyone but the fact is they single handedly tarnished the name aliens, for the sole reason of making borderlands 2 which wasnt even a good game to begin with, instead of maning up for every mistake they did they would rather use coning arts and look where that has got them. Good riddance to this team hope they disembark and join other good devs to see how a game is supposed to be made
Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection already tarnished the Alien name :P Colonial Marines wasn't a good game at all but Isolation sure was, really enjoyed that! Also, Borderlands 1 and 2 were fantastic games.
AvP will always be the best Idea/game the aliens series will ever know.
No disrespect, but I personally can't fathom how people like Borderlands? I tried Borderlands 2 a while back when it was free on PS Plus. Super repetitive gameplay, the stupid "bajillion" guns gimmick, dry/unfunny humor, pile of a story etc. In a way it reminded me a lot of destiny, i guess it explains why i don't like neither of those games.
@mrswanksinatra No disrespect, but in my opinion, you have awful tastes in games and i feel sorry for the people who take your recommendations and suggestions about games, if any. Been playing the handsome collection recently, mostly 2, and even just last night was just amazed at how great the game is, tons of tiny little details and so much care put into so many aspects of the game, i honestly can't fathom why someone couldn't at least sort of like it, or at least respect it. I understand some people don't like certain genres of games, like fps for example, but you can still respect a game without liking it or its genre. Borderlands 2 was one of the best single player [or co op] games last gen, the story was amazingly funny and awesome, the gameplay was very diverse for a shooter, the side quests were just so great. The scooter poem side quest, face mcshooty, the ai that tries to kill you over and over again and ends up a talking gun. The unique and amazing cell shaded art style, one of the best villains in a video game. Only someone with horrible tastes could not fathom why people like it. Again, not saying you have bad tastes because you don't like it, but you do have bad tastes if you can't understand why others would. Now the pre sequel on the other hand i could understand, bl is one of my favorite franchises and i didn't even like it campaign wise.
Seems many just don't understand, Borderlands 1 and 2 (maybe even the presequel) have character. It is a game that makes it easy to love if you play with an open mind. There is so much love and detail put into everything, and honestly I don't know how a sub par dev managed to pull it off. From the start of the game when you here cage the elephant when a skag gets ran over its charm hits you and never really goes away for some people.
sounds like he is off to do something fun considering it's adventure time.
Good series,it has so much charm
Thank you, Matthew Armstrong. You created a really fun franchise
Can't wait to see what you do next, Matthew!!!
With this, is Gearbox dead? I know Anthony Burch is a good writer for sure and he helped make Borderlands 2 - so, maybe not - all depends how things go after this kind of event.
I guess not everyone's doin' the Claptrap anymore...
