E3 2008: Sony's Free MMO - A First Look

I got an opportunity to check out a game called Free Realms today which marks Sony's foray into the casual, free MMO...

Actually, this is for the pc AND ps3. In fact, I think they announced it for ps3 first. I could be wrong on that though

IF you know economics and how videogame market goes on you would know what Microsoft don't need many 1st party studios, because they allow earn money to their partners beause XBOX is no their main cash cow. XBOX is a Microsoft stategic weapon to keep users(gamers) on windows platform. That is their main goal.

And today when there is another big rival it is time when if you are 1st party it's bad for you.no money, no blockbaster games. nobody will get money away just to support Sony(FFXIII is an example). And Sony don't have so many cash to do big excusives which even isn't not profitable. MGS4 - 2 millon for a 60 million game = zero profit, GT5 - need money from prlogue because it's to expensive to produce - i.e. 2010 relise date confirmed. Sony is falling.

...but I'm just gonna throw this out there. Alan Wake is using GeOW2 duck and cover skills right now and just he's waiting for an opening to pop out and go for the headshot...maybe :)

Either way if he's not that's too bad because SONY seems to be dripping and quite literally slathered in their own sauce of new games at this moment. Bad for my bank account good for my gaming. This is a beautiful thing for me and my PS360 brethren to see many new games with each day of E3.

If Alan isn't ready then M$ needs to open their coffers back up and buy him some new clothes so he can make a fashionably late entrance ala new trailer or teaser. I don't want to forget why I'm excited about this title.

I only mention Alan Wake as I'm still hoping to hear something about this game soon. Otherwise I'll be hanging my hat on my chainsawgun this holiday season.

From the looks of it, it kind of gives off a World of Warcraft sort of aura (i.e. graphically). The fact that it's free is good enough for me... I just hope it's good and not bland.

Anyway, a MMO targeted at kids that age kinda concerns me. I have played my fair share of MMO's and kids don't need to get into the sit in front of the computer drinking Mountain Dew and Red Bull for hours and hours on end to get that next level or clear the dungeon or whatever. Short campy games for that age so they can play when they can and go outside and play as well.

Microsoft ensure you that this game will be much better than anything we have coming up, we are thinking of making an MMO for a bout 20 dollars a month, and this two dimensional game will be so much better than Sony's MMO. Although by the time we create it we could have easily gone out of business.

But anyway wow another free MMO? They got Angel Love Online already as another free one... dunno if they are bringing that to US and Europe though...
It's supposed to be able to link with PC servers and the game has already been out for PC in Asia.
