Given that Bloodborne has made a dramatic leap into my personal best games upper echelon, I'm very excited to pay a visit to From Software's other clockwork worlds. That upcoming Dark Souls 2 remaster is suddenly a very enticing prospect. I'm also sitting on a largely unplayed Dark Souls 1 for Xbox360. Can of worms = opened.

Dying is awesome in these games. Feel so good!!!

for me Dark Souls series is a good copy of Demon souls but not better ...while veteran (NG+3) in DemonS never attracted by Dark (i never finished it)....and Bloodborne is the true and excellent successor to DemonsS not Dark's

You could arguably play nothing else for the next full year with those 3 games. Between the SP, PVP & Coop there's endless hours of entertainment. I need to switch it up every now and then and play something else but still, you're lucky to have so much new/undiscovered content at your fingertips, especially with these types of games.

Truth be told, Dark Souls II is not even on the same tier of quality that Bloodborne and Dark Souls I are. I find the enemy placement and overall boss design are very contrived and uninteresting with few exceptions, and the overall gameplay is extremely hard to go back to after playing Bloodborne.

Its real lame. The enemies dont respawn after 10 deaths and you can't farm.

Why that decision was made, I have no idea, but it ruined the experience.

Bloodborne by a long shot. The art style is in its own league and plus the combat is more fun

I've gone thru one play through after about 65 hours and I am still not used to it being OK to trade blows with enemies because you receive lost HP when you connect.

The three previous games have programmed me on a cellular level to swat and roll and it is nearly impossible to feel safe while trading blows. Its just so different.

I love the fact that its like this, but I will never get used to it 100%. Its like driving for a decade and then all of a sudden you're told to use the other side of the road. It feels backwards.

Finally got my copy of Bloodborne but havent had a chance to start it yet. I will say I loved the rpg/loot aspect of weapons in the previous games. (Trying to find better weapons within each type, etc)

Sounds like Bloodborne has opted to significantly drop the number of weapons, and instead make each more unique I guess?

Cant wait to start it - but for now that has really been my only "concern".

That's unfortunately missing in Bloodborne and I agree that makes these games so special.

slinky1234561204d ago

That is why I love Bloodborne. It makes every weapon more special, and it makes it so that ANY weapon you use can be the best weapon in the game if you know how to use it. I got the Platinum in the game sticking with the Threaded Cane from the beginning and even defeated a few bosses first try with it. Many other great weapons but you can stick with what's best for you, rather than what's "best in the game".

You can't compare the games in my opinion, bloodborne is the most "user friendly" experience then any of the souls games.

Maxor1204d ago

The other Soul games are simply too hard out of the gate, this one is just perfect for new players to enjoy which is a good thing. Elitist be damned. I hope the next Dark Souls game will be influenced by Bloodborne design choices so we can lure more people into this awesome genre.

bloodborne is not user friendly. darks souls 2 is user friendly

SpinalRemains1381203d ago

Being invaded ad nauseum in multiple areas is not user friendly. In those areas one cannot take two steps from a bonfire without being invaded by multiple players.

Bloodborne goes back to how it should be, like Demons and Dark 1. It is way more user friendly than Dark 2 I think.

All great games , don't make me choose. Facing a boss in a souls/echoes world is something else.
