Blood will be spilled in this showdown.
Given that Bloodborne has made a dramatic leap into my personal best games upper echelon, I'm very excited to pay a visit to From Software's other clockwork worlds. That upcoming Dark Souls 2 remaster is suddenly a very enticing prospect. I'm also sitting on a largely unplayed Dark Souls 1 for Xbox360. Can of worms = opened.
Have fun dying.
Dying is awesome in these games. Feel so good!!!
for me Dark Souls series is a good copy of Demon souls but not better ...while veteran (NG+3) in DemonS never attracted by Dark (i never finished it)....and Bloodborne is the true and excellent successor to DemonsS not Dark's
You could arguably play nothing else for the next full year with those 3 games. Between the SP, PVP & Coop there's endless hours of entertainment. I need to switch it up every now and then and play something else but still, you're lucky to have so much new/undiscovered content at your fingertips, especially with these types of games.
Truth be told, Dark Souls II is not even on the same tier of quality that Bloodborne and Dark Souls I are. I find the enemy placement and overall boss design are very contrived and uninteresting with few exceptions, and the overall gameplay is extremely hard to go back to after playing Bloodborne.
Its real lame. The enemies dont respawn after 10 deaths and you can't farm. Why that decision was made, I have no idea, but it ruined the experience.
Bloodborne by a long shot. The art style is in its own league and plus the combat is more fun
I've gone thru one play through after about 65 hours and I am still not used to it being OK to trade blows with enemies because you receive lost HP when you connect. The three previous games have programmed me on a cellular level to swat and roll and it is nearly impossible to feel safe while trading blows. Its just so different. I love the fact that its like this, but I will never get used to it 100%. Its like driving for a decade and then all of a sudden you're told to use the other side of the road. It feels backwards.
Finally got my copy of Bloodborne but havent had a chance to start it yet. I will say I loved the rpg/loot aspect of weapons in the previous games. (Trying to find better weapons within each type, etc) Sounds like Bloodborne has opted to significantly drop the number of weapons, and instead make each more unique I guess? Cant wait to start it - but for now that has really been my only "concern".
That's unfortunately missing in Bloodborne and I agree that makes these games so special.
That is why I love Bloodborne. It makes every weapon more special, and it makes it so that ANY weapon you use can be the best weapon in the game if you know how to use it. I got the Platinum in the game sticking with the Threaded Cane from the beginning and even defeated a few bosses first try with it. Many other great weapons but you can stick with what's best for you, rather than what's "best in the game".
You can't compare the games in my opinion, bloodborne is the most "user friendly" experience then any of the souls games.
The other Soul games are simply too hard out of the gate, this one is just perfect for new players to enjoy which is a good thing. Elitist be damned. I hope the next Dark Souls game will be influenced by Bloodborne design choices so we can lure more people into this awesome genre.
bloodborne is not user friendly. darks souls 2 is user friendly
Being invaded ad nauseum in multiple areas is not user friendly. In those areas one cannot take two steps from a bonfire without being invaded by multiple players. Bloodborne goes back to how it should be, like Demons and Dark 1. It is way more user friendly than Dark 2 I think.
All great games , don't make me choose. Facing a boss in a souls/echoes world is something else.
I love the Dark souls atmosphere and environments and think it's better in that regard but I love BloodBorne's gameplay even though I prefer sword and shield. BloodBorne seems a little too short compared to Dark souls and there isn't as many areas so that is a knock for me
Can't wait for their next Multiplat installment, just imagine how good a dark souls 3 would look in the bloodborne engline
or demon souls 2?
Demon Souls 2 please. Don't care if it's multiplat just take me back to Doors that lead into theme specific worlds.
i do like the openness of the other games, but i much prefer having the choice of what places i can go to.
I prefer Demon's Souls to dark souls and im with you guys i would love to another installment in that world. i would also love a remaster of Demon's souls on the ps4, not sure if that's likely to happen though, i can only wish. it would be especially nice if they give it The Scholar of the first sin treatment, visual tweaks, more enemies etc
or create an additional expansion pack that is like 8hrs long or more and ship it like that and charge full price. I'd buy it so quick.
Dark Souls any day for me.
The most horrible thing about Bloodborne for me. Bloodborne killed my controller. :( P.S Im not kidding. Using R2 so much destroyed the trigger. Now I have to fight Father G without using the R2 button. Bloodborne is an amazing game though and I like it better than Darksouls. Especially the fact that the combat is more offensive and defensive.
The game struggles, especially when online to hit 30FPS. I do love BB and it's one of my favs of the series, but a game like this deserves to be on PC were it can actually run smooth. I'm sorry it's the truth.
Sony were the ones who decided to help fund the game not PC owners. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't be playing the game. Just enjoy the game for what it is and stop complaining about it not being on PC. That's the truth.
If it were on PC it would run much better and provide a better experience. Can't be argued with. That's all I'm saying.
Isn't that what they said about Dark SOuls 1 that ran pretty bad on PC?
Dark Souls 1 is amazing on PC. It takes a few minutes of tweaks, but that's easy. I can do runs in Blightown all day and never dip below 60 FPS. Dark Souls II is the same compared to the 30 FPS on PS3. It makes it a completely different and much better experience. *Oh ya and I can run both DS1 and DS2 across three monitors. It's pretty incredible and it makes it SO much more immersive than playing it on 1 screen. Imagine doing this in Bloodborne: DS1: http://cloud-4.steamusercon... DS2: http://cloud-4.steamusercon...
Well then. Ask Sony to allow From software to bring it to PC then. They funded the IP and From Software has an exclusivity contract with them. So its up to Sony to decide where the game goes.
I get quite exasperated with the self entitlement of large sections of the pc community. Bloodborne looks incredible and plays wonderfully on PS4, it is damn close to a perfect game. While no sensible person can dispute that it would run more smoothly on PC it is completely wrong to suggest that the game offers a poor experience on PS4. If you want to play console exclusives get off your high horse and play it on a console!
