PlayStation LifeStyle writes: "Yorbie is not a good game. It’s barely a decent game. At an asking price of $19.99 ($17.99 if you’re on PS+), this is a very hard sell. The novelty of same-screen co-op is tempting, but not for this heavy of an investment...If you absolutely love the platforming genre mixed with sci-fi, you still need to wait until this game is discounted. Heavily."
Happy Dance Games is looking to claim their own success with the release of Yorbie Episode One: Payback’s A Bolt, however the question remains; was an episodic release the right decision for this particular title?
The evil Dr. Zox has taken control of the planet Yorbia Prime, destroying the all-powerful Guardians while enslaving the remaining inhabitants. The future of bot-kind now rests on the shoulders of Yorbie, an unlikely hero who was arisen from the remnants of this once great civilization. Armed with his half-cocked wit and a lot of firepower, Yorbie is going to get some payback…
n the last few years there have been a number of developers that have attempted the episodic delivery model with a varying degree of success, however none have been as successful as Telltale Games.
When Telltale released The Walking Dead Season 1, they proved that this can be an incredibly successful and financially viable model for releasing games.
This will probably end up as a freebie at some point.
Well that is unfortunate.
