This is Why I Play Bloodborne

Bloodborne has been released upon the masses with more hype and marketing push than any From Software game in recent memory.

That means many people unfamiliar with the Souls series may be diving in with no prior experience, which certainly would explain the rash of people complaining online about Bloodborne‘s difficulty. Most notably a certain someone from a big video games media outlet. If you don’t know what to expect, it will wreck your day and make you feel as if you’ve wasted $60 on a game you just can’t beat.

Thank you. I feel it sums up the Souls experience for those of us that aren't particularly capable.

7 hours?! you must be exaggerating. If I was that terrible at souls games, I wouldn't play them.

Good luck with the rest of the game. Hope it doesn't take you 7 hours to beat every boss...

Sadly, no. It took me that long to get it down. My stubbornness carries me through where my skills fail me.

Of course it didn't help that I was wearing the rags I started the game with and refused to grind levels much.

As for the rest of the bosses, so far none have given me nearly as much trouble. Probably because I can take a couple hits and the relief after that win calmed me down a lot. When I get frustrated like that I play even worse than usual.

It took me about seven hours before I stopped dying every few minutes in Demon's Souls years back.

Don't worry about it. It may not feel like it, but you're actually much, much better at the game now. That's the real beauty of it's design.

I certainly feel like I'm better at it. The whole ordeal really hammered home how different the game is.

I can now face roll all the enemy types I've come into contact with. The only other 2 bosses I've fought to this point (Cleric Beast and Blood-starved Beast) were walks in the park. Of course they seemed like actual jokes, so whatever.
