Alright, let's get this over with from the start. Yes, this does look like a certain exploration / action / adventure game from our past and yes it even plays like it, but don't think for a minute that this is a bad thing. I won't lie and say that this isn't a dead ringer for, ahem.... the Metroid titles of that past, but for lack of a phrase, this is exactly what it is. Axiom Verge is the passion project of one Tom Happ, whom has basically been a one-man development team. He's slaved away on this title for the better part of 5 years.
And now, after those 5 years, we finally can play Tom's vision, scratch that... his re-imaging of how a new Metroid could and should have been. But is it worth it?
