The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is getting closer and closer to its massively anticipated release, and Senior Game Designer Damien Monnier answered a lot of questions from the fans.
I didn't want to waste more time typing an E, so now you owe me a minute
trying to be funny mr hebrew ?
dragon age was 200hours but that combat as so dreadful it didnt last 30 for me. hope this isnt the case here but since its more arpg that shouldnt be the case
he could actually mean by life. for example this man is fast at making choices he has been living by life in the fast lane. so theoretically your wrong to correct them, even thou presumption tells me you are correct and the way he meant it was goodbye life but still the by life can still be paraphrased. so you sir lose by correcting a correct statement.
At 60fps Good bye universe. **Ascends to heaven**
great another long game LOL, man it use to be a game comes out i can play it for along as i want. But now with family, job and other responsibilities its becoming hard to finish these long game i always still make an exception for special games and i believe Witcher 3 will be one of the best games of all time. I really hope one day soon they release wicther 1-2- on xbox one and ps4
I played 5 open world games back to back. Then played Valiant Hearts and Counterspy from PS Plus and appreciated the shorter games break. now on Borderlands Pre-Sequel on PS4. I like open world games but agree with work, family and hobbies the open world games get to be a chore sometimes. Summertime now will make it harder with outdoor activities.
Pandas, can't spell, can't drive.
I'm screwed your right
That what I wanna hear
Ill probably just hunt for more than 200 hours
Exactly, I tend to just set off and see what adventures await. If I happen upon a quest mark so be it, if not well all the better for my adventuring :)
Thats the idea! The ammount of detail theyve put in the game is crazy.. cant wait to just venture out and see what awaits
I spent 80 hours according to Steam on The Witcher 2 and left some stuff behind, finished the game only once (Dark difficulty), etc. If the third game is like the second one, but with more content, I'll easily get more than 100 hours. That's the amount of time I have to game for 3 or 4 weeks. Can't wait.
I played tw2 twice. I wanted to get both act 2s, since a choice in act 1 dictates what version of act 2 you get. I think my total hours is around 60 hours. I only played on Hard, but I plan to play TW3 on the "dark" equivalent.
You play 25 hours a week? O_O
Yeah, around that. I play more during weekends. Hope to get my new business going soon so I can quit my job and have more time.
Well good luck with the business man :) but I don't think as a small business owner that you'll be able to play that much in a week
That's not too bad. About 2 hours a day, maybe a bit more with free time on the weekends. Some people like watching TV for two hours, others play games :)
@rhap - "Hope to get my new business going soon so I can quit my job and have more time." Good for you!!! Thats great! I average around that on certain games in terms of hours. Its not as hard as many seem to think. I do about 20 hours a week on certain games, but I just have shorter sittings, like 2 hours or so, twice a day for a week lol. Playing The Witcher 1, got about 18 hours in it and LOVE IT! Can't wait to play 2 when I'm done! and good luck on your business! PM me what it actually is lol.
When is this game supposed to come out? It feels like it should have released a long time ago...
50 more days
LMFAO! You know someone wants to play this game when they answer in days!
Lol I pre-ordered digital, there's a counter next to it, I swear!
May 15th in US. It's been delayed twice. Shouldn't be delayed again.
weird, says May 19 for me.
http://imgur.com/LArWapq Here, for the non believers.
Google says May 19th as well.
Looks like I misremembered the date: http://n4g.com/news/1635972... Wishful thinking I guess.
200 hours *_* (Homer Simpson drooling sound)
You got me at "over 200 hours"
The game will be great, but technical side...
The game is gorgeous, what are you talking about?
I believe he hints to the history of CDP releasing buggy games and now releasing an open world game. ;)
I just finished the Witcher 2 on the 360 last week. I know it's been out a while now so it's obviously had a few patches, but I didn't come across one bug in my entire play through.
I really hope that "Don't worry about the PS4 version" means, CD are taking advantage of the hardware and doesn't mean, both versions will have the same great experience, ie. dirty parity.
I believe it was confirmed that ps4 will run at 1080p while xbone will be at 900p probably upscaled to 1080p
Im more worry about the performance!I really hope that this game gets to 30fps lock minimum on consoles;and without the frame-pacing issues that unfortunatly plague Bloodborne!
We can only hope. It's easier said than done, though. Most advanced open world games so far have not achieved a solid 30fps on consoles. Not GTA5, not Dragon Age Inquisition, not AC Unity... Let's hope The Witcher 3 manages better in this regard.
I keep hearing about frame rate issues on Bloodborne and I don't know if I'm just lucky or what, but it's been smooth as hell for me. Diggin' that game! OT: Can't freakin' wait for the Witcher to drop, my birthday's on the 10th, so I've just got to wait a week after that to explore this world and beast hunt!
How can you not notice the stutter caused by the uneven frame delivery? I noticed it immediately and I really hope they can fix it. Either way you must be one of those lucky few who are somehow blissfully unable to perceive it.
Yeah man, as much as I adore Bloodborne right now. It's got some frame issues. Especially in Old Yarnham. There's a certain step going up from there before you cross the bridge that causes the game to freeze for a split second before continuing every time for me. (This is going backwards toward the lantern for the area.) I've noticed this stuttering freeze every once in a while in different areas as well. It's got an overall smooth frame rate, but it does have it's slight technical issues. From Software can make a hell of game when it comes to gameplay, but they're not really known for their technical prowess. Still, the game is amazing, and I'm sure Witcher 3 will be as well!
Oh, okay, I have noticed that part by the bridge, it had a weird glitchy moment and makes a weird noise. It only happened for a split-second though, so I didn't associate it to frame-rate issues, I thought it was just a glitch. I've noticed it in one other spot in the witches area too then. If other people are having problems like this more often then I can see how that would be annoying, hopefully they'll patch it up soon. I'm just glad it's only in a couple of localized spots and is gone before you know it, I hate consistent frame-rate stutters.
That newcomers response tweet really made me happy. As a newcomer to the series myself I was worried I'd be walking into something I knew nothing about. Glad to know the team is making sure the game properly introduces new players like myself. Super excited for this ! Good thing Its still a ways away... I need more time with bloodborne. Lol
Same here, bloodborne is consuming me right now, but I can't wait for this to drop! I've never played any of the Witcher games before, but I definitely like the developers approach to everything and what they stand by. The world looks amazing and I can't wait to dive into the lore and everything, I'm glad I'm not going to be completely lost because I haven't played the other ones.
I wasn't worried about the PS4 version at all.
My Pc is ready!!;)
Let me understand, when a guy asked: "Any news regarding PS4 gameplay? Or is the silence caused by some Microsoft contract?" And Damien Monnier answered: "sometimes our fans understand us more than we can say. Don't worry about a thing. You have my word." That means there's a contract with M$ where they CAN'T show PS4 footage? Has M$ fallen so low? Maybe they're worried because the game could look better on PS4 but... Well, i hope no parity, i want the best they can do with the hardware on my PS4. Even if it's 1fps and 1 more on resolution, if they can do it, i want it =P
It's part of the exclusive advertising deal. They are advertising the game on behalf of the developer/publisher, and therefore don't want any form of advertising to include their competitor's information. That includes videos of the game. Contracts vary from one project to another. I'm sure there have been a few Sony contract deals where they've limited videos and advertising in a similar way.
And yet not a peep from you when MS was not even allowed to advertise Destiny or get the beta at the same time as PS4. Hmm was Sony "low" then?
Have not finished the first or 2nd game yet really the only fantasy style game I have actually liked , but that's mainly due to not being exposed to much polish tales and legends. These games drop in price fast so I wont be getting it at launch maybe in 6 months.
You still have time bud. I'm playing The Witcher 1 on PC and loving it! Both games are around 40 hours long, With a dedicated month, you could very much beat both games and still have weeks until Witcher 3 releases.
The Witcher 3 is gonna be the PC game to beat this year. Holy cow does it look amazing. Sure hope history can change and the PS4 can handle the frame-rate. That was what killed the PS3's chances for The Witcher 2. Fingers crossed and got my PC at the ready just in case.
Actually that's Pillars Of Eternity atm. Let's hope The Witcher can at least get a draw!
WTF..... I have other games to play, other interesting things to do with my life. That's the reason i stopped playing DA:I and that's the reason i totally loved Transistor. The average gamer these days has 30 years. Who is 30 and has 200 hours of their life to play JUST ONE GAME? Why devs feel like they need to put endless content in a single game?
Because lot of players demand it? If this huge AAA games didnt sell well, they proberly wouldn't put in that much Manpower. I am above 30 and i am looking forward to this, and i will eventually find the time to get all the way through. If you dislike it, dont play it, but dont make the mistake to think that just because you dont have the time others dont. I personally like that not all games are Diablo like with only a few hours of playtime, before you know the Whole plot/story! Its more like a good book that you can return to.
You can finish DA:I in 12 hours. Just don't do all the side quests. I assume TW3 is very similar in design. All that extra content is for people who do have the time and want to do it.
200 hours is a lot of time, but no one is saying that it has to be accomplished in two weeks or anything. you can stretch that 200 hours over any amount of days/week/months.
@Roadrun01 "If you dislike it, dont play it, but dont make the mistake to think that just because you dont have the time others dont." I don't think much players are in that age range and have that much time for one game. general statistics show and prove that. The percentage of finished (or high completion percentages) is diminishing. Don't ask for a link, google it if you must. You will find the time? that's awesome bro. i wish i had the time.
Well that is just stupid. Take the amount of people that has the time for playing WoW, and alot of other mmo games. Any of thouse has spend more time playing, than it will take to finish a game like TW3. If you are looking for a game that you can end over a week, then obviously TW3 is the wrong game for you, but that doesnt make the developers dooing a wrong thing, it just make you look for the wrong games. And the average age for a gamer is around 30, also mmo players, so it seems there is plenty that has the time.
Its cool to see that this game budget wass $15.mil! Skyrim was like $84.mil I think? And this game looks just as good.
Wow the witcher 3, bloodborne, and mgsv:pp will keep me busy for a long time!
i'm worried about the XB1 version ...
We aren't worry about the PS4 version, it's the Xbox One one that we are worried about.
