I was worried they wouldn't follow suit like DmC with changes to game, and that DMC4:SE would just be DMC4+Vergil. Glad to see more costumes condering the complete lack of them in DMC4.

But, damnit capcom "Vergil is playable in any mission; Lady is only playable in Nero missions; Trish is only playable in Dante missions" so far that'smy only issue and it can be rectified in BP. Still kinda sad they didn't remove that Nero/Dante limitation. Hopefully it's also not too late to give Vergil his own small story as well.

P.S please don't make Vergil Nero's father, I dislike Nero and the thought of twisting Vergil's character like that. I just want to forget Nero happened.

Lol DMC 3 remastered will be out a few short months later. Then 2, and then 1. Finally, once all are out, they will combine them for a remastered collection if you would like to buy them a 3rd or 4th time. Then a collectors ultra HD remastered version shortly after that. Am I doing this right?

RollingSquare3313d ago (Edited 3313d ago )

The DMC HD collection was already released two years or so ago. It contained DMC1, DMC2, and DMC3 in one package. So yeah... there goes your entire point.

I don't see why so many people are so sarcastic about it, DMC4 SE is a Special Edition just like DMC3 SE was, it's extra content (that isn't forced on you), for probably a decent price. It's like DLC, and I don't consider that a cash-grab.

That said, I am disappointed that Vergil seems to have no missions of his own, and no storyline. I was hoping they'd explain what happened to him after DMC1, and if he's really Nero's father.

Neo_Zeed3313d ago

I wanted to play as Lady the first time around. :)

Sevir3313d ago

I'd have preferred that they go back in and add features worthy of the next generation. In the same way that they basically redone some of the textures quality and environments for the definitive edition of Tomb Raider, new particle effects, new physics. This is really just bumping up the resolution and adding new characters to play with.

I'm still getting, but i'm a tad disappointed

blakeyboy903313d ago

This is starting to get pretty silly.

How The Devil May Cry Games Pulled Me In

Pratyush writes- "According to fans, the wait for the latest DMC installment was torturous; 11 years without a sequel to a game that not only defined a genre but even after all this time, stands atop every other game that it inspired or was inspired by. DMC5’s trailer sent every person who loved video games into a frenzy. More than a decade later, an icon of gaming was returning after being dragged through the mud *cough* DmC *cough*.

DMC5’s reveal trailer brought with it all the cheesiness that was popular in the early 2000s and felt gamey for all the right reasons. Add to that, the persistence of my colleagues that the DMC games (and Ninja Gaiden) were must play action titles and their sarcastic jabs at me for having only played the (shitty) reboot; I relented. Before the release of DMC5, I went back and completed DMC3 and 4, only missing out on DMC1 because it kept crashing on my system (and 2 because that was in a, uhhh “league” of its own)."

Dante had style for an @$$ kicker. That's what attracted me to the franchise. That first demo that came with the Code Veronica game was Gothic and Castlevania like walking down those hallways. It was amazing. And the attract video in-between made you want more.

As a fan of the series, buying the manga, buying the action figures, watching the anime, it turned me off with Tameem Antoniades of Ninja Theory saying Dante had no style and he knew what was better. That first pick of his "Dante"
https://i.pinimg.com/origin...
showed me he didn't know what he was talking about. Especially with the fact that he needed to be redesigned from turning fans off to him. Besides the story being changed and the combat system being inferior to previous combat systems. Result: less sales. Capcom had to keep releasing it over and over or pair it with other DMC games in bundles to sell it. It under achieved.

Waiting for a DMC 5 with a more traditional Dante, is what fans like me wanted. It's like Jared Leto Joker.

https://fsmedia.imgix.net/2...
Complete turn off. No one wanted that. And movie sales showed that for Suicide Squad. While the Joker in the latest movie is not a turn off. And made a billion plus. Jared feel alienated after the new Joker was green lit. But it was fans who were alienated from a character they liked that was a turn off. Harley Quinn was alright. But that's only because Margot Robbie is hella fine. You can see her sexiness thorough the makeup.

Glad Dante is back. The cool Dante.

Yes. Devil May Cry 2 was a step back and umm... Interesting. But was stylish. And that Japanese commercial is still awesome to this day.

These 5 Games are Leaving Xbox Game Pass at the End of June

why i still dont think its a good idea to get a game pass just why?
it would be great if they let players choose what to keep with a timer sort of thing.

TGGJustin1768d ago

I mean Game Pass isn't for people who want to own games. It's for people who want to dive in an play what's on offer. Most games stick around in the catalog well long enough to give you enough time to finish them.

gamer78041768d ago

all Microsoft games are there to stay, its almost worth it just for that, but you also get discounts on dlc which is awesome, so if you are getting gems or something for a multiplayer game to spend in the game store you get a discount on those too.

mikeslemonade1768d ago

The 5 games coming are always better than the 5 games leaving with the time criteria. New releases, over several year old games.

Shiken1768d ago

I have Game Pass for the MS exclusives personally, as I would not want to pay full price for them otherwise. So it still have value, and is one really good thing MS has done this generation.

babadivad1768d ago

Also, if you REALLY like a game, you can purchase to own it at a massive discount.

BrianOBlivion1767d ago

Personally, I use GamePass to try out games to see if I want to buy them on the PS4.

well they do have a section on gamepass with games that will be leaving that month in case you want to play them before they're gone...if you want to keep a game from gamepass they do let you buy it with a discount...most games stay in there for a fairly long time, some for a year or more...the smart way to use gamepass is simply by looking at the price of a game...if you plan to play the game and you think it's going to take you over a month to finish, if the price is less than $10 then just go ahead and buy it before the subscription ends. even if they take it out of gamepass you will still be able to play it after that.

TacoTaco1768d ago

If you want to keep something on Game Pass, support the developer and purchase the game. The Store usually has a discount as well

optimus1768d ago

didn't i just say that?

TacoTaco1768d ago

It says 1 hour ago, there's no way for me to know if we were typing at the same time or not...

optimus1768d ago

yeah there is. it says 2 hours ago next to my name.

TK-661768d ago

@optimus

Calm down dude.

KillBill1768d ago

Actually @optimus you didn't just say that. you didn't mention supporting the developers at all. Your verbiage was a run-on paragraph that people tend not to read.

And if people reply with similar things just agree with them and leave it at that. Why do you have to make it seem like some kind of contest?

crazyCoconuts1768d ago

You know if people reply with similar things just agree with them. You don't have to make it seem like some kind of contest, Right?

optimus1768d ago (Edited 1768d ago )

@killbill.... i didn't say "support the developers"? really? that's the big difference to you?🙄.... as if that's going to be the defacto argument to pursuade anyone into buying a game. get real...

do people decide to buy their clothes contemplating on whether they should support the designers? do people buy their food and think to themselves " I'll do it to support farners" and not because i'm actually hungry...

you kids sound ridiculous whenever you say dumb things like that because it's redundant. just like repeating something that was already said...hell, even n4g administrative thinks so since they don't allow "duplicate" articles to be submitted. (even though they tend not to enforce that)....

the truth of the matter is, kids just like to feel "smart" by repeating or copying things instead of actually doing a little reading for thenselves...hence why we have so many school dropouts every year.🙄...supporting the developers.😄

TacoTaco1768d ago

Dude, really? It's a single comment, not a statement on... Childhood dropout rates?

King_Noctis1768d ago

Or you can buy the game outright? That is still an option you know.

shiva11768d ago

Do the math buddy... Outright 100 games is how much? and how much is gane pass?

But yeah options. Some dont get what it means.

crazyCoconuts1768d ago

Right now there are two (Exodus & Wolf2) games in the PC GamePass I would otherwise have bought for $25-$45 each and sold back after playing them. As long as they can keep these new desirable games cycling in at that place I'll keep paying because it's saving me $$. Like when Gears or Halo come out I can play through their single player campaigns in a month or so and effectively end up paying $10 / game? That's a good deal

Nu1768d ago

Game pass ultimate I got for $1 and I save my money

Sayai jin1768d ago

Just picked up Metro Exodus from game pass. I got 2 years of Game Pass Ultimate for $2. Exodus alone is anywhere from $30-45.

Melankolis1768d ago

I still don't know how the devs make money on Gamepass. Do they get paid by MS for a period of time and then out (or extended)?

BLow1768d ago

That's a good question. I'm sure one of the business experts can answer that for you. I would love to see that explanation especially since they are literally giving this away for $1 for months.

TGGJustin1768d ago

They are most likely getting paid a fixed amount of money by Microsoft to be on Game Pass for a certain amount of time. Pretty much the same way PS+ and GWG are handled.

Promachos1768d ago

...or you you can buy any game you want before the deal ends (ooops Optimus dude i'm sorry man no no noooooo)

The PlayStation Classics: Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition

People were dealt quite a blow at the end of April 2019. Matt Walker, one of the Devil May Cry 5 producers, said that development on the game ended. While data mining had hinted at another playable character, his statements meant things were done. No Lady, Trish, or Vergil for people who were hoping they would come to the game. (At least fans always have the Bloody Palace.) So, while gamers mourn and come to terms with that, let’s celebrate a game that, well, actually did give us all three of those people as playable characters. Let’s talk about Devil May Cry 4.
