Will it have create a character? and let us share them? I loved that in UFC.

I dont really like the idea that the game is $60 and has $30 of day-one DLC. This crap is getting old.

Only one answer: vote with your wallet.

News like this, about terrible DLC-milking, only means I won't buy it until there's a discounted complete release a year orso from now, IF I still care by then....

You make too much sense. I wish more people would do this but it's not going to happen. Greedy companies are too good at manipulating large parts of the market i.e. parents and kids/teens who don't know any better.

While I agree with you that too many people are not rational in these situations, and are impatient so they want the game, and they want it NOW...

... I do feel that when you've got a bunch of friends, you can influence them, with arguments. Most people HATE DLC, so you can basically just tell your friends you won't buy that game at launch, tell them the reason why (DLC), and explain you'll get the game a year orso from now when there's a complete edition for a fraction of the money, and instead right now you'll spend your money on great games that came out 8-12 months ago, which are NOW in the bargain-bin, with all DLC included. In many cases, they'll agree with you, and will decide to do the same.

If someone on Facebook mentions they might want to buy Evolve, I'll ask if they've got Battlefield 4 Premium yet. If they don't, I'll simply mention that as a much better option, and why I think so. And why Evolve isn't worth the money.

If someone wants to buy MK10, I'll mention there's a complete edition of Street Fighter 4 coming out.

If someone mentions buying Forza 5, I'll tell them Project CARS will almost be released and has a lot more content.

Etc etc. So yeah, while there are many people who really don't care that much nor follow the news and bargains, I have noticed I do have an influence on friends, and to be honest, it's not very difficult to convince them to wait for better deals on complete releases, instead of spending 60 bucks on release day and then being nickel-and-dimed in the months after that.

I don't mind paying 50-60 bucks for a game at launch when it means getting the whole game, like The Witcher 3, but it too many cases there's already greedy DLC-milking announced before the game is even released, so that just means I'll wait, or skip it altogether.

This is so gross... as a big Mortal Kombat fan it makes me sad that I won't be playing this one. I can't possibly support such a blatant slap in the face. Too bad it doesn't matter what I do though lol, they ARE going to make the money they are looking for and nothing will change...

You must have not bought MK9 then, because not only did they have the DLC planned out for that game before it launched, the DLC was on the disc...Then again I forgot it's only Capcom that can't have extra characters with some information on the disc in a game that had 43 characters

Wonder_Punk1224d ago (Edited 1224d ago )

Actually I did buy MK9 Komplete edition so I didn't have to worry about buying DLC. Also I'm pretty sure the DLC was not on the disc of the original release and that's besides the point anyways.

In any case I fail to see what you're even trying to say? I didn't mention Capcom and I'm not OK with any game that does stuff like this...

If you think 4 "extra" characters for half the price of the "full" game is reasonable then by all means fork over your dough to them..

sorane1224d ago

This is why I'll wait for the complete edition to go on sale for $4.99 in a year or so. I'll stick with my $4.99 Mortal Kombat 9 Komplete edition until then.
