Junkie Monkeys: TOM and SARA are back again with another video game review on Toonami. This time the duo reviews the PlayStation 4 exclusive The Order: 1886.
7/10 seems about right for The Order. Not anywhere below a 6/10 like some reviewers were giving. Graphically it's incredible, there's no denying that. The gameplay is fun, nothing revolutionary though. The length and lack of replayability are what hurt it. The game certainly lays out nice groundwork for a potentially amazing series in any case, which I'm all for.
I agree, but if the length and replayability is what hurt it, then people have some seriously messed up perspectives and an immature outlook on value when it comes to games vs. other forms of entertainment and enjoyment. I'm sure most of the people hating on those 2 aspects, are the same people that go to the movies and pay $20 for 1.5 or 2 hours of entertainment that they can't take home with them. I'm sure most of the people hating on those 2 aspects, are the same people that go to nice restaurants with their friends, family or girlfriend and spend $20 a head for some nice food, drink and about an hour sitting down at a table. None of this stuff is replayable. You can't experience any of that again without paying for it. None of this stuff is long, but it costs the same amount as The Order does when you add up the same amount of time vs. the cost of the same activities. The people who reviewed The Order badly based on those 2 aspects are absolutely disconnected from reality.
