Banja Kazooie Kinect Tech Demo At SXSW Gaming Awards

Rare is currently showing off a new Banja Kazooie Kinect Tech Demo at the SXSW Gaming Awards.

Also Rare has since posted a response to what was shown at SXSW, clarifying that the interactive demo was not in fact created by them.

OOOK, so not a new game.

Good because if they spent all this time working on a Banjo game with Kinect controlls I think a lot of people would be ticked off.

Here's hoping for Banjo Threeie (they better call it that and skip over Nuts and Bolts)

I_Love_Gaming1163d ago (Edited 1163d ago )

Yeah unless Kinect implementation is easy I wouldnt want it being done to this game just because l. More development time can be used for sonething else. And 2. Most people buying Xbox One are not buying it with Kinect.

Will this game get released?

Somehow showing off a demo that they didn't make is a wholly good thing?

WCxAlchemist1163d ago

I Dont mind Banjoo with Kinect as long there is an option for controllers like D4 has

Yeah because now we can all rest knowing Rare is still working on an actual Banjo game....not kinect crap

Imagine the hype behind Banjo only to find out it's a kinect game.

Godmars2901162d ago

Its not as equally bad, but its still not a good thing that they had to clarify after the fact. The studio who actually did it should have been up there, even if they're not a big name.

SilentNegotiator1162d ago (Edited 1162d ago )

I'd have to punch someone in the face if, after feedback/sales of BK:N&B, the next Banjo Kazooie game was Kinect related.

We want a traditional Banjo-Kazooie game, dang it!

mikeslemonade1162d ago

This makes me think that all X1 exclusives will be kinect games.

They should make me a Microsoft employee because if they want to win by install base I can show them how they can win. Making games cross platform is not the way to do it.

its been almost 15 years since the last good banjo game came out. idk why but it seems a little ridiculous not to make a new banjo platformer/adventure game

UltraNova1162d ago

When I saw this I was like wtf RARE is this what they had you develop?

I hope Phil somehow finds a way to let them work on something they would 10 years ago. IMO If somebody can do real quality and exciting games within Ms's 1st party is RARE followed by Remedy.

Chard1162d ago

You'll get your Banjo-Threeie from Playtonic Games

gamer78041162d ago

was looking for something other than a platformer with little story, we already got rayman legends for free which is great for that. Hopefully its perfect dark but does sound like they are making something kinect.

Thanks for posting that. The title is quite misleading as Rare weren't the ones showing this off. The studio responsible for the demo is called Audience Entertainment.

This is their twitter page

Conkerkid111162d ago

Sorry for the misleading title. It was originally posted when the only thing we had to go off of was Geoff's misleading Twitter post.

Crummybear1162d ago (Edited 1162d ago )

Phew, that was a close one lol. I dont have an Xbox1 yet, but maybe down the line. I hope M$ really let's Rare run wild with whatever their working on (without the kinect for once please dear gawd)

k3rn3ll1162d ago

Eonjay1162d ago

It clearly says it is a tech demo...

MrSwankSinatra1162d ago

MS just killing Banjo more and more

k3rn3ll1162d ago

do your research before you post uninformed lies

MrSwankSinatra1162d ago

microsoft owns banjo therefore they are the gate keepers to the ip and they hold the right to lend out it out and allow use to anyone. do your research

WizzroSupreme1162d ago

Oh, how I just love Banjo. Wish it could fine more success than it has in the last decade.
