Hey Poor Player's Alex Lupella writes - "When I first heard there was a new Oddworld game coming out I couldn’t believe it. As a fan of the early PSone titles I have been waiting for a new Abe adventure for many years and didn’t think the series would ever be revisited. After finding out Oddworld: New ‘n Tasty would be an HD remake of Abe’s Oddysee I was excited enough to consider buying a Playstation 4 just to play it. I never ended up buying that system but fortunately for me about six months after the initial launch the game was released on PC through Steam. Did this game need an update? After about fifteen minutes of playing it my answer was yes."
Starting today, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is free at Epic Games Store. The free game offer runs until December 19 at 11 AM Eastern. Once you claim it, it’s yours to keep.
"If you're a 2D puzzle adventure aficionado who doesn't already own Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty on one of the half dozen consoles that it's currently available for then it'll make for a worthy purchase but those who do have it will find little reason to get it again on Switch." - A.J. WTMG's Heidi Hawes: "All Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty! managed to do was frustrate me. However, it did make me appreciate the controls in Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee more. Honestly, if you’re new to the franchise, it might even be better to just skip ahead to Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath. At least those gameplay mechanics feel like something more from this era. That being said, if you’re a die hard fan of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee or perhaps just a glutton for punishment, then perhaps try your luck with Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty!."
