Akia from Nintendo Enthusiast takes a look at the way that the Wii U version of Project CARS has been treated and asks the question: Will it really be worth it?
Probably Another Third-(Party)-Degree Burn. There are many reasons why 3RD Party games sell bad on Wii U but the main reason is that most of the time they are just bad ports. I know I have some of those 3RD Party games. COD Ghosts, Madden 13, and a few others I bought were horrible ports. Most of them had not only bad frame-rates but sometimes they even had graphics that looked worse than the Xbox 360 ports. While Nintendo's games have actually looked a step up from the Xbox 360 with frame-rates that were a perfect 60fps. That is the main reason I no longer buy 3RD Party games on my Wii U. I don't even like buying 3RD Party games on my PS4 sometimes because of the bugs and poor frame-rate 3RD Party Publishers are willing to release their games in these days.
90% of third party games are better on ps4 than the other platform.so I don't get how u threw ps4 in there with that comment.
But the third party games themselves are lacking lately. That's his point. Looking beyond resolution and eye candy, if your game doesn't work or is fragmented into dlc or just plain sucks, what good is that? I still can never get into a GTA heist game. Sometimes it won't even let me make my own.
My Wii U get's the worst ports but I still get bad ports on my PS4...
Wow fanboy much he's talking about the broken crap turd party's release regardless of platform
this is what the wiiu version will look like http://images.eurogamer.net...
The smoking tires..and those gloomy clouds! such detail :O
I just found out there's a place with a Cruisin' Exotica cabinet in my town, and this makes me want to play it really bad...
no the Wii U version doesn't exist
I'll buy it if there's mario in it.
Maybe the game is being delayed so they all can release together. I mean hell they are making a lot of games on the Wii U.
I know the thinking is wrong, but I initially think last gen when I hear Wii U. Supposedly it's on par with PS3, right?
I know this game won't disappoint. If the Wii U version is indeed coming, I will buy it.
I just want to see screen and video of it on the Wii U before I buy it. Watchdogs didn't show us a single bit of info from the Wii U port and it was worse than the other versions of the game.
I supported third parties during the better half of the system's first year. Third parties made me not want AAA third party ports on Wii U, because of how lacking they were in content and basic developer TCL compared to every other version. Nothing Nintendo could have said or done, not even a change up to a higher-spec system early, would have made me want to trust third parties after how many times they burned me, as a consumer, with those ports. At this point, I only trust collaborations and exclusives, from AAA third parties, to live up to the kind of quality I want to see in games on my Wii U. I don't honestly have much, if any, trust left to give to this port, either, as a consequence, and I feel confident in saying that the majority of Wii U owners are likely starting to feel cautious towards this title, too. I mean, they so rarely talk about it that people are speculating that it's canceled. How's a fanbase on a system that's been burned so often before supposed to get excited for a game like this, when they start avoiding talking about it?
Project CARS is probably the best example of why third parties abandoned Nintendo. When Slightly Mad announced Project CARS will come to the Wii U they didn't knew the hardware specs at the time, like any other third party developer, and you can bet that Slightly Mad were not expecting Nintendo to repeat their mistake with the Wii, but Nintendo surprised us all doing it again releasing an underperforming console. So I assume the guys at Slightly Mad said something like: "f**k it, we'll work on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions first, and then we'll figure out what to do with the Wii U". Slightly Mad's mistake was to commit to a console before knowing anything about it, I'm sure they will never do that again. But I'm sure you will continue whining about how the third parties give their back to Nintendo, instead of trying to understand that it actualy was Nintendo the one who gived the finger to the third parties.
The PS3 and 360 versions were cancelled in nov. 2013 and the wii u was never really rumored to be a powerhouse, i dont think the power is the issue, but the architecture being different to everything else.
Straight up bullshit you obviously don't know shit but continue to talk out of your ass go do your research
Right, because the console was so impossible to develop for that games couldn't be ported well on it. It's not like Need for Speed was ported with a flick of a swi-OH WAIT IT WAS! And THAT happened back when the dev kits were STILL HARD TO USE! IMAGINE THAT! Third party developers were stupid to use ports of games with lacking content that we could, and have, played elsewhere for years, to try and support a whole new system's worth of fans, that their main series have basically ignored, or done wrong towards, for 3 full console generations, if not longer. Interesting new exclusives could have paved the way for a lucrative future for them on the Wii U, and those initial exclusives could have been turned into multiplats with their sequels, in order to spread out profits to other systems, using the first to gain trust on the Wii U. They could have done it that way quite easily, given how much people praise their talents, but they did not. But I'm sure you'll ignore all of that, on top of how the specs haven't held back other developers from making great games and how it was dumb of Slightly Mad to try and shove a game where they obviously wanted to focus on high-grade realism onto a console that's more about aesthetic styles than graphical horsepower. No, you will continue to give the finger to Nintendo for not being the powerhouse of the generation, while ignoring the sins of third parties because they're popular everywhere else. Just like every other hater and SPECS WHORE out there has been doing since before the system released.
Of course I'm a specs whore! Like all third party developers. Why wouldn't we? What's the purpose of upgrading to a new console generation if there is no improvement in the hardaware specs? Why would I have bother investing in a gaming PC if I didn't care about the graphics power? Do you really think I beleive you are OK with the Wii U specs? If the Wii U were the console with the best hardware this generation would that make you feel bad? If you truly love the Wii and Wii U because of their "innovative controls" then would I be right to call you a GIMMICK WHORE? Nintendo gave everyone the finger, to developers and gamers. And they are surprised that most abandoned them? Only loyal gamers like you keep suporting them. I don't understand why someone will be loyal to a business, is beyond me. I'm the most disloyal person on this planet when there is money involved. I will never be loyal to a company ever. If they keep doing good products then I'll buy them, but I'm not paying for shitty products. Last generation I had a Wii, an Xbox 360 and a PS3. I got the Wii just for curiosity like most people but was very disapointed, I'm not getting burned by Nintendo again. My Xbox 360 died with the RROD after only a year, like it happend to about half the people, I'm not getting burned by Microsoft again. So far Sony hasn't messed with me, so this time I only have a PS4, but not because I'm loyal to Sony. And you wonder why the PS4 is leading in sales? Live loyalty for people, for your friends, your famlily, but not to a company, that's plain stupid. Same thing applies for PC gamers who are loyal to either Nvidia or AMD, I just don't get it.
LOL, you say you're not loyal to Sony, and you claim they haven't MESSED WITH YOU? - A console that claims superior power yet consistently allows developers to poorly use them, resulting in lots of games that are overhyped and underdelivering due to their focus on using these specs for catering to the realism of the graphics. - Online you now have to pay for when it was never necessary for them to make a profit and was actually one of the better selling points of their past system. - Taking out backwards compatibility to replace it with a streaming RENTAL service, under the guise of saving on the price of the console. - Focusing more on social media features than on actual improvements to gameplay potential for their controller. - Practically abandoning their own hand-held for years while relying on only the most ardent of developers and their fantastic RPG's to barely keep it afloat. - Only truly pushing for the benefits behind motion controls [move] and Off-TV play [Vita] once Nintendo has shown that they can actually benefit games, despite having prototypes out first, and then suddenly making fewer and fewer games that make proper use of their potential. Sony HAS screwed with you. Just as Microsoft has. Just as a lot of developers have. And just like every other spec whore, you're ignoring the fact that there are PLENTY of developers that CAN and DO make FANTASTIC games on the Wii U's hardware. Simply because its spec sheet doesn't fit your elitist standards. All you do is focus on comparisons between specs and graphics without fully appreciating just how great many of the games on the system both look AND play. You don't give credit where it's due to the games that deserve it, much less putting blame on the shoulders of developers that obviously don't know what the hell they're doing to their own ports on the system, and when someone points out all the mistakes that anyone aside from Nintendo has made on the system, you call them a fanboy/company loyalist for supporting good games regardless of console specs. At least with me, I give Nintendo the appropriate amount of criticism they deserve for their poor advertisement efforts, horrible naming sense, horrid disconnect with their online features, and quite a few other things that I KNOW they could fix if someone could just get ahold of their ear on those matters. You ARE loyal to companies. Your statements towards Sony show it, since you're putting up with all of that using whatever excuse you'll probably slap up next. And Third parties have given me more middle fingers with the quality of their multiplats than Nintendo has EVER given me with their own first party games, let alone any exclusives they have a personal hand in developing in tandem with specific third parties. Nothing you can say will ever change the fact that third parties DUG THEIR OWN GRAVE with the way they handled their own efforts on the Wii U. No one is going to buy a new system for multiplats, no matter how cheap it is, when, as a first example of many, a LAST GEN version of Call of Duty comes out for it that doesn't even get all it's extra maps. Maps that the system could easily support with its specs. Stop blaming Nintendo for the screw-ups of third parties when third parties have proven, consistently, that they don't know how to sell themselves to a fan base that they've burned all their bridges to. Third parties need to wipe their own asses, and being a specs whore has blinded you to a LOT of good games that deserve attention from more people. Period.
I guess we have a different point of view regarding the PS3 and PS4, here is why I don't feel messed up by Sony: 1- Yes there are some bad and overhyped games, like Driveclub or The Order, but guess what, I didn't bought them. I don't have to buy each and every game there is on a console because I don't have to (see? no loyalty). 2- I don't play online games, ever, so I don't care if it's not free anymore. 3- Taking out backwards compatibility actualy was a smart move becasue the PS4 now has an much better architecture that allows developers to work easier. Also the rental service is aimed to those who never had a PlayStation before, which is not my case (and I still have my PS3, so no need for that feature anyway). 4- I don't care about social media features, as I said before I don't play online. And your complaint about not doing something better with the controller confirms to me you are a gimmick whore. I'm very happy with the PS4 controller the way it is. No gimmicks for me, please. 5- Their handhelds (PSP and Vita) are crap, really, I never bought those, but this might be very hard for you to understand because you still think I'm a loyal Sony fanboy that buys everything from them, believe me, I'm not. 6- Pushing motion controls (move) and Off-TV play after Nintendo did is called "competition", happens in every industry, but in the end it didn't work out becasue those were just gimmicks, gimmicks that I never fell for and never bought either (again, no loyalty). My point with all this is that not becasue I bought a console (in this case the PS4) it doesn't mean I'm some how forced to buy and use each and every game, service, feature, accesory, etc. The PS3 never messed with me, and so far the PS4 hasn't either. Also I'm mainly a PC gamer now (specs whore! yeah!, praise Lord Gaben!), were I actualy spend about 80% of my gaming time, and only about 20% on the PS4. Believe me, you are missing a lot. This 3rd parties you hate so much actualy do awesome games, not only visualy but also fun to play. Sorry none of those are available on your Wii U. Keep brainwashing your self that only Nintendo does good consoles and games. That's loyalty.
Sadly for you, you don't get to make that claim of console loyalty towards me; I've owned Sony consoles since the start of the PS2 era, and have been a PC gamer for several years now, so your claims of console loyalty on my part are half-baked at best. I actually play a LOT of third party games outside of Nintendo consoles. Ar Tonelico and the Tales Of series are two of my favorite RPG lines ever, and I don't have many games in the Ratchet&Clank series that I don't enjoy quite often, alongside my Devil May Cry collection. Hell, as I speak, I'm alternating between editing in stuff on this post, and experimenting with new mods on Skyrim. The only difference between you and me is that I've got the guts to call out third parties for their shite treatment of the Wii U fanbase. A fanbase that they had a wide-open shot at pleasing and pulling money out of. Just like I do with Nintendo and their shite advertisement efforts on top of plenty of other things, I take to calling out third parties on their BS on the Wii U, rather than excusing their piss-poor actions on one console because they're doing "okay" everywhere else. Because they f***ing deserve to be called out on it, not excused because they don't like the damned specs, especially after spending the better part of the first year of the PS4 and XBone making games that still launched on last-gen consoles, while bringing few if any of those games to Wii U, like they easily could have if they had half a mind to try doing it right. And just because you don't play online or wouldn't use BC even if it had it, doesn't mean that it was any less stupid or screwy of Sony to do the things they've done with the PS4. If you're not loyal to Sony, then you're certainly loyal enough to third party companies to avoid calling out their BS on the Wii U, and that's more than enough to call you out as a loyalist in some form. Also, define "gimmick". Because from the way I see it, the PS4's touch pad is a far more useless "gimmick" than the variety of options available to players on the game pad. Features you give no credit at all while lumping them in with motion controls, which indicates to me that you'll take anything outside of the same old control style we've had for generations to be nothing more than useless gimmickry, which is narrow-minded at best, and unfair to the positives of such changes at worst. You can call me a "gimmick whore" all you like, but at least I attempt to give new ways of playing things a try, rather than just demanding prettier sparkles on my graphics and being satisfied like so many other sheep.
im prob gonna get a wiiU for Starfox, thats gonna be that game right there.
I don't think they should and will bother anymore. When they delayed the WiiU-version (if it's comming at all) to focus on the PS4 and X1, they made - imo - a lasting impression on the WiiU-community.
This just another water down 3rd party game I wouldn't be surprise if it doesn't include a online mode and no DLC.
I personally think that fast racing neo will look better... IF the game even does release on Wii U and does not get canceled
