It has been seven years since Atlus made a new entry into its Persona series that wasn't a remake or spinoff. Last year the developer announced Persona 5 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, making this the first new entry in the role-playing game series that wasn't a fighting game or dungeon crawler spin-off.
Since its release in 2016, the "Persona 5" series has won numerous game awards around the world and received enthusiastic support from everyone, with cumulative sales of over 10 million units worldwide.
In the world of video games, there’s no genre quite as notoriously difficult to get into as the Turn-Based RPG. Lets review a few RPGs you can play if you’ve tried the biggest and best in turn-based combat and never found it appealing.
Sea of stars while seeming pretty good so far doesn't belong in the top rpg discussion. There's way better ones. I'd tell them to play star ocean 2. One of the best non turn based rpgs ever. It has everything.
The Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, or the Shadow Hearts games has decent enjoyable turn based combat system.
The Persona 5 sub-series has surpassed 9 million copies worldwide and now contributes to over 50% of the series' total sales.
Would be plus+1 more if they'd settle the fk down and stop re releasing it. I'm waiting on the definitive one over here
I do agree on the alternate main character but I do have issues with the New Personas section because ice is pretty much water damage (Aqua was in Persona 2 as well) also psychic manipulation are granted in the form of it's nerve attacks (Marin Karin, Pulinpa, Tentarafoo etc.......)
Also, having the game end when the protagonist dies is kinda a trademark of the series and also ramps up the difficulty a bit so I think that should remain.
I would like to see more things to do after school besides hang out with people. I do enjoy the social links but the game would seem more appealing to a wider audience if it wasn't labelled as a social sim. That's all I really want tbh because I found the others in the series to be amazing(well maybe not P1).
judging from the trailer it looks like they got Dungeon variety covered. New Persona is a given and More references would be nice.
What i would like to see in Persona 5? umm.. Persona 5
Well party members that dont like you would be nice, as much as i like p4 every party member felt like you had them max social link basically by the middle of the game. I kinda like the idea of P3 that a group of kids that probably wouldnt have been friends in a different life came together for a common cause. I like the fact that Junpei was jealous of you, I mean as a main character that basically got everything handed to him, I would expect someone to be salty.
