Kirby and the Rainbow Curse Review | GAW

Kirby was one of my favorite games to play on the original NES. I just don't think any game in the series has been able to capture the essence of Kirby since then.

hmm, Kirby has been one of those games that over time I've become more and more disinterested in. It's a cute game, but still feels unoriginal, but idk what you could change to make it fun. Might be a good game for a younger generation, maybe I've just grown out of it.

Kirby is a series I will always love. Maybe the series just seems like it's geared for a younger generation now though.

Kirby is totally a favourite of mine and will continue to be, this game just feels like an odd choice on Nintendo's part. It's a shame Rainbow Curse didn't hit the highs of Canvas Curse. Dat statue viewer doe.

Nintendo titles are always great for kids regardless of critic reviews. They can have fun with it no matter what.

I certainly loved several aspects of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse! The co-op in particular was a strong point and the game got exponentially more fun with each waddle dee added to the mix!

I love how kids love games no matter what a score says. Adults might be laughing at some game with a Metacritic score of 2/10.... but some kid is out there loving the s**t out of it. LOL!

I only tried it for a second, drawing the rainbow roads were a little odd at first. I might give it another try.

I love Kirby, but this just isn't Kirby to me. This is to Kirby what Hyrule Warriors is to Zelda. Fun for some maybe.... just not for me.

This is what bums me out about Nintendo...

There licensed IP's have such a strong and robust history, I am drown in nostalgic memories of playing some of the greatest games of all time. IP's that I LOVE, Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, etc.... Then Games like this come along, that are visually STUNNING, just an orgasm for the eyes, but it has a silly gimmick that just hinders the experience. It was one thing with Kirby's canvas curse, where I was already looking at the screen, but this just ruins it for me, and I doubt I will ever get to play it.

That's the thing Nintendo needs to realize, when it comes to nostalgia, nobody cares about new features and gimmicks, they want that feeling with a new environment.

Not sure why I'm replying, as your one bubble will prevent you from being able to have a healthy debate with me, but here it goes anyway.

First of all, I never once asked Nintendo to "change" or "innovate" anything, nor did the majority of people buying their consoles and licensed IP's. If I could have a true sequel to Super Mario World, or Super Metroid, one without any added bells or whistles, I would be nutting in my pants.

I am an avid Nintendo supporter, as many of the folks on N4G are. However I am an honest person as well, and I just feel what Nintendo has been doing ever since the original DS, is risky and away from the point. Nintendo's bread and butter has always been in releasing SOLID, POLISHED, Triple A gaming experiences, they need to concentrate on that, not goofy and cumbersome hardware gimmicks.
