DS:
Hollowpoint - the next game from Crackdown 2 developer and regular Microsoft first-party contributor Ruffian Games - was announced with but a brief trailer at gamescom last year as a PS4 and PC exclusive.
At this year's Paradox Convention, the team showcased a first eyes-on look and broke down how the game will actually play. It's a procedurally generated shooter that melds iron-sight and twin-stick controls, a progression system driven by loot and customisation, and a game that's designed to be played with friends as you compete to create possible squad of futuristic skilled operatives undertaking corporate espionage.
Sean @ FG: Part Five of our EGX Rezzed hands-on previews looks at BFF or Die from Honey Tribe, Hollowpoint from Red Kite and Foam Sword’s Knights and Bikes.
At one point Hollowpoint almost didn’t even make it. Now, however, like a phoenix rising from the ashes Hollowpoint is back in full development with Red Kite Games.
From GameWatcher: "A year ago, in March 2017, Hollowpoint was in trouble. The co-op focused 2.5D shooter was being developed by Ruffian Games, the creators of Crackdown 2, and was to be published by Paradox Interactive. Due to “creative differences” the partnership broke down, and while we expected to see Hollowpoint again we were shocked to discover in December that the game was now being made by an entirely different studio - Red Kite Games, who have worked on the Call of Duty, DIRT and God of War franchises, but this will be their first full game. We got a hands-on with the new version of Hollowpoint at EGX Rezzed, with a couple of other players at our side to test the co-op. And it could be a lot of fun."
