Online demand for 360 surpasses PS3 ... Wii beats both

It would seem that much of the buzz Sony built for the PS3 launch is dying down; no doubt due to the system's MIA status from virtual store shelves. In a recent study, the Xbox 360's online demand has surpassed that of the PS3; the Wii has -- not surprisingly -- passed up both of them on the list of most online interest.

According to Compete.com, the interest in the Xbox 360 in major online retail outlets passed up the PS3 on November 25th, which is the same time Amazon.com offered up the $100 Xbox 360. Since October, interest in all three consoles grew at an increasing rate, but only the PS3 has suffered any sort of decline. Online demand for the PS3 is on a decline since the unit launched, most likely attributed to the fact people can't find them.

wow that's a sharp decline for ps3! I mean that is pretty harsh when you think of it. All this intrest then after the launch we see that sharp turn downwards :(
The 360 and Wii are looking very nice with their steady as you go look on the graph.

I think it is mislabeled.

It isn't PS3 Online Demand that is down, it is the Demand verses Supply Ratio. People know that they can't get it online, and so it appears as if the demand has dropped, however, it has only dropped when compared to the extreme difference in the supply line of all the consoles.

who every labeled this as a demand line, didn't do to well in the basics of economics. you can only compare demand of separate products if the supply lines are within a close proximate with each other. if they are not (like in this case) then you are comparing a ratio that could be jaded do to consumer knowledge of the online marketplace. (hence, you can't buy something that isn't there, and if you know it isn't there, you aren't as likely to look for it)

It shows the same thing on Google. It shows people aren't doing searches on the PS3 as much as they are on the 360 and Wii.
