Iwata outlines what will be discussed at Nintendo’s next financial results briefing

Iwata:
Today, since this is not a Corporate Management Policy Briefing but a Financial Results Briefing after the year-end sales season, which is the biggest sales season of the year, please allow me to focus on the results of the sales season and update you on our most recent business status. While we will further our endeavors to increase our Nintendo 3DS and Wii U businesses in the next fiscal year, we intend to simultaneously challenge ourselves with new endeavors which include our plan to take advantage of smart devices, more aggressive use of Nintendo’s character IP and our new QOL improvement platform business. I am limited in what I can discuss about these efforts now, and I do not think I can successfully convey a big and comprehensive picture of our projects just by sharing with you some fragmented information on these multiple challenges.

Iwata actually said, "We're losing money everywhere but we're not changing anything. Here's the plan for the next fiscal year: We're just going to sell DS owners another 3DS revision until the Wiioo Wiioo comes out and extinguishes all the money we've been burning with our bad judgement and stubborn ways, which will continue indefinitely. We love you Sega; See you soon!"

It was translated poorly. ;b

Troll harder, that's it.

RSKnight1336d ago

I think your translation was actualy pretty accurate, hahaha. Iwata will never change, that's for sure.

It's still funny. People get offended by the truth pretty easily though. Wii's success was an accident that sold more to nongamers. N64, Gamecube and Wii U are only great for Nintendo fans, and handhelds are all that kept them in business due to countless minimalistic hardware revisions. See how this post is not funny? Learn to take a joke, people.

Oh, wow, the Wiioo Wiioo, yeah, so funny.

We already know what Iwata will say at the next financial results briefing: "Please understand".

I think that's what Iwata was actualy trying to say this time, but he was trying very hard to avoid using the words "please understand", it should have been like this:

*PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT* today, since this is not a Corporate Management Policy Briefing but a Financial Results Briefing after the year-end sales season, which is the biggest sales season of the year, *PLEASE UNDERSATAND AND* allow me to focus on the results of the sales season and update you on our most recent business status. While we will further our endeavors to increase our Nintendo 3DS and Wii U businesses in the next fiscal year, *PLEASE UNDERSTAND* we intend to simultaneously challenge ourselves with new endeavors which include our plan to take advantage of smart devices, more aggressive use of Nintendo’s character IP and our new QOL improvement platform business. *PLEASE UNDERSTAND* I am limited in what I can discuss about these efforts now, and I do not think I can successfully convey a big and comprehensive picture of our projects just by sharing with you some fragmented information on these multiple challenges. At the time when we hold the next Financial Results Briefing to discuss the annual results of the current fiscal year, *PLEASE UNDERSTAND* I am hopeful that I will be able to share with you any relevant information, as well as about our financial forecasts, in as much detail as I can. Accordingly, *PLEASE UNDERSTAND* that this information is not included in my presentation today.

Probably just the WiiV. It is about 10% more powerful than the WiiU, has a controller that looks like a microwave and nukes the users brain with radiation while analyzing facial expressions to control the character.

Didn't read the article but I assume it said that he was resigning?
