Avid Gamer writes: "an Brown has a lot to answer for. He's single handily put the authenticity of the Catholic Church into doubt, spawned thousands of wannabe The Di Vinci Code novels and even produced a pap video game (and movie). As if one video game wasn't enough, (like the novel) games have started to recreate the air of mystery and conspiracy that you'd associate with the source material. One such game is Belief & Betrayal. The adventure title from Lighthouse Interactive even brags on its official website that it's "like The Di Vinci Code". There's something worrying about such a comparison. Does Belief & Betrayal end up shaking your faith or is it confined to the depths of gaming hell?
You take control of typical US journalist, Jonathan Danter who's thrust into a mission to find out the truth. Like every average journalist, Danter's uncle was 'supposedly' murdered ten years ago and everything isn't as it seems. It turns out that he was involved in a 900 year cover-up concerning Judas, the silver he earned from betraying Jesus Christ and a mystery "that could destroy humanity itself." Anyone familiar with the Di Vinci Code can instantly draw parallel lines between the two. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as the flattery is done well. Being an adventure title and a game that's heavily based on its story, it's difficult to go into much depth without the plot being spoiled. We can say it's better than most and does weave an interesting tale."
