Dying Light is the latest entry by the developer Techland known for its Dead Island series.
6 and 7 out of 10 are not mediocre score or a joke. Its a personal opinion. Maybe people think that the story is not good, maybe the gameplay becomes very easy after a while. Its a good game but unfortunately after playing it for a while, its flaws becomes really visible.
Dead Island had a ton of flaws, still loved it :)
I honestly loved Dead Island abit more than this. But it seems i am in the minority here.
I've really enjoyed it. But to be fair I'm a big of a walking dead fan so it's right up my street. But I would understand a 7 to an extent, it's an 8 for me but I think 6 is a bit low in my opinion.
I liked it. Better than Dead Island which I had issues with. This stays fresher for longer, although I wish the story was a little less insane.
Reviewers like Angry Joe are idiots. This game is a 8 or 9.
you must be one of those players who think anything below 9/10 is bad.
Nah its just that its probably the funnest game i've played in a long time, i'd give it an 8.5 myself. Just got the grappling hook, it got even more fun.
I don't but at the same time i see these games that get 9/10 with no bloody reason at all. For me the review scores means nothing as long as i enjoy the game. I am talking in general.
Depends on your scale. Angry Joe goes by a standard 5-average scale. Other 20 year old reviewers are still used to high school so they do the baby school type scale.
Haha true that!
"A game I like is getting bad reviews, that means everyone is an idiot and a liar and are wrong. I'm way better than they are. 11/10 #EthicalJournalism."
Either way people are ignoring the reviews , the game was the sole big release for january and most of february (i consider stuff like The Order and DOA to be quasi march releases given their date) and seems to sell very well
And that's your opinion
This game a solid joke.
It's called freedom of speech. Obviously reviewers across the board find issues with dying light, so they score it accordingly. There's no biased involved. You either agree or disagree. Games keep preaching reviews don't matter anymore, but now suddenly they are angry when one game didn't show as high as they think?
It is a great game. I just think the mission structure is a bit baffling. Some can be outright frustrating then they have to be.
Story is the same zombie story, the bad guy tries to be Vaas too much. I say the reviews are perfect.
Do you guys remember Kane & Lynch Dead Man. Gamespot's employee was fired because he gave the game low review scores. I mean you can't just bash a game just because it has tiny flaws. Dying Light was overall a really good experience and in my opinion the review don't do justice to the game at all. How can AC: Unity and AC Rogue sell 10 million copies even though both were not so outstanding games. Not to mention the tons of issues with AC Unity. Its just like releasing a pre-alpha game with $60 and it still managed to sell well. I don't understand gaming industry at all.
See, it all comes down to these little things called "opinions". Some of you can't seem to grasp that. AC Unity was actually a really good game, in my opinion. It's not my favorite in the series and the NPCs can be glitchy, but the core game was quite enjoyable. Why do so many people expect gamers to move in a herd? Like we all have to hate certain games and love others? I think Dying Light is a good experience too. But if it legitimately didn't resonate with some people, that's fine. As long as the hate or the hype isn't due to a bandwagon then it's fine.
Having played and completed on ps4, I would give it 8.5/10 ....but I think a lot of low reviews may have come from the PC crowd? Heard they had a lot of bugs their end.
Nah, it runs fine on PC. On any decent PC you can get it running much better than the console versions. The amount of bugs is about the same between the console versions and PC version.
It is pretty obvious why Dying Light is getting mediocre review scores - there are zip-lines in the game but no perk that allows you to shoot your handgun why you are using them that .01% of the time. That and you cannot play Texas hold'em in the game. You have those and your FPS game will get a 90+ Metacritic score easily! Seriously though, Dying Light and Far Cry 3 score the same in my book (Far Cry 2 beats them both). If you liked Dead Island or Far Cry, then you should give Dying Light a shot.
Stopped reading at the Assassin's Creed recommendation. This article is a joke.
So apparently a number of people are talking about Dying Light review scores over the internet. Just saying :-)
