There are alot of rumors going around regarding what might be shown at the event. will be so awesome if some of them turn out to be true.cant wait. it looks like it's going to be a great event nevertheless ,also the DX12 Xbox One team will be doing an interview with the innercircle podcast team before and after GDC.

All I see is just a lot of PR talk 😒

christocolus1313d ago (Edited 1313d ago )

Maybe that's because PR talk is all you wanna see.how can the following be regarded as PR talk?

"At GDC 2015, Xbox will share new tools and roadmaps with developers for creating games on Windows 10 devices. On March 4th at 11:00 PT, Spencer will host a presentation about developing games across the Microsoft ecosystem – from Windows 10 PCs, to Xbox One consoles."

"That’s not all Xbox has going on at GDC 2015 – our talented developers and thought leaders will cover a wide range of topics across 16 sessions over the course of the conference, including developing games for Windows 10 and Xbox One, a closer look at DirectX 12, a deep dive on creating cross-device multiplayer experiences with Xbox Live, and more"

@Iceball2000

you do understand that pr talk is what businesses do? i don't know why you or any other no microsoft fan think that by saying that it's pr talk, that it somehow makes the topic or claim not valid or possible? cut that crap out and just wait and see. no one wants to hear your attempts at a discrediting comments.

now good day to you sir and GAME ON!!!

bananaboats1313d ago

They're talking about things they will show at GDC. Is everything MS says PR talk to you?

Can't wait to see what gets reported by all gaming sites.

Immorals1313d ago

Oh man, the trolls are gonna be out in force next month.

Mods, start polishing your banhammers now..

halfblackcanadian1313d ago

This is true with a big IF

Trolls will be full-force IF DX12/"the lifting of NDAs between AMD and MS"/Xbox One "power" gain isn't world shattering

Trolls will have nothing to say if any of those things turn out to be true. If Brad Wardell is correct, nothing to troll. If MisterX is correct (about stacked CPU/GPU, NDA on hardware features) then there's nothing to troll.

Immorals1313d ago

If there's nothing, Sony fanboys will troll, if it's significant, pc/Microsoft fanboys will troll.

It's what happens when you let 15 year olds use the Internet unsupervised!

Oh..they'll think of something! lol. And if all else fails.. they will just fall back on the old "Ill believe it when I see it" line.

halfblackcanadian1313d ago

@immorals - Unfortunately, too true. Haters gonna hate...

@Moldiver - That's quite possible. Until full DX12 games are in homes, and those games blow everything away, there will be people to hate on it.

Sayburr1313d ago

Has anyone said anything about new game engines built specificly for DirectX 12? The reason I am asking is wouldn't there be a need for new engines in order for DX12 to actually make a difference?

christocolus1313d ago

The only one known so far is the one being built by stardock. they talked a little about it in their interview with the inner circle team but since fable legends is being built with DX12 then there must be others out there besides lionhead and stardock building their custom DX12 engines

shloobmm31313d ago (Edited 1313d ago )

Microsoft has stated that both Unreal Engine 4 and The newest Unity engine will have full DX12 support ready to go for developers.

TheCommentator1313d ago

Right now dx12 games in development will only see about a 30% increase over today's titles. Until developers get full dx12 compatible kits this fall they can't unlock the true power of Xbox One, so the first full dx12 game will not likey be published until holiday 2016.

rainslacker1313d ago

In most cases it would just be a matter of changing out the DX code with the new API, and adapting new things that exist in DX12.

No engine is really built specifically for a single API, because multiple API's exist in the marketplace. Console engines meant to build for a single console may do this, but they aren't very common outside of the manufacturer's provided engine.

I wouldn't doubt that EA, Ubi, Square and all other major publishers already have what they need to start making the transition.
