The Monster Hunter series can trace its origins back to the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable platforms, but over the past five years the franchise found a new home with Nintendo. After the stellar release of Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii and its HD update for the Wii U, Capcom is taking the experience to the 3DS with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Considering the nature of these games, there may be some reservations over the decision to make a mainline entry exclusively for a portable system, but after spending dozens of hours slaying all manner of beasts and behemoths, it’s clear any concerns are unfounded.
