Activision Defends Call of Duty's Performance; Treyarch's New COD "One Of Our Best Games Yet"

During the financial results call for investors and analysts, Activision responded to allegations that the Call of Duty franchise might be starting to suffer from fatigue, based on the fact that sales year over year are lowering; The publisher also promised great things for the next installment developed by Treyarch.

You're right. They should do a modern day game with modern weapons and modern soldiers right? Maybe call it COD: Modern Warfare.

Or maybe redo WW2 with, yes, prettier graphics, better ai, bigger worlds, co-op. There are still many battles and stories to tell in the WW2 era.

Infinity ward has gone downhill and most of the peeps that made those games no longer work there, I personally think IW most recent releases have been the worst in the franchise.

Also that's bull about treyarch not being innovative, they brought the hugely successful zombie mode which was very innovative at the time. Hell they even brought tanks to the mp in w@w, something other cod have not tried.

Couldnt believe they left out zombies which always came with the game. There a huge difference between making money and this scam they have going. Wish I could sell the game but it was digital copy that came with my bundle.

Why do people keep saying this? When has it always came with the game? Zombies is only included in Treyarch's Call Of Duty games, never has it appeared in Modern Warfare, MW2, MW3 or Ghosts and Advanced Warfare has Exo Survival as the extra game mode. The fact they are having a Zombies mode for Advanced Warfare as well as Exo Survival is a huge bonus. Give them some credit, my god, you don't even have to buy it. Anyway, can't wait for the DLC to drop for PS4.

You are assuming the content was finished and taken out of the game.

They actually packed the season pass with the collectors edition for 99 bucks that was actually a good deal same as Destiny. The others don't pack the season pass with their collectors edition charge you 100+ bucks and still sell you the season pass separate.

I am against the dlc/season pass entirely. They already make billions out of the series, then they should make the damn dlc available for free. You are paying 90$ or more for a game now to fully experience it so that is BS.

Previously games got expansion packs. So it's not really anything new it's just a different way of delivering and implementing it. As long as they don't take content out of the game and sell it I'm ok with paid DLC.

The price for the main games haven't really increased since the NES times while production and marketing costs have skyrocketed.

Treyarch is the only thing that can save the franchise. Ghosts and AW were not what I was looking for. Hopefully WaW 2 is true. WaW was my favorite game.

I definitely had fatigue. Bought AW new, before that they were all bargain bin up to CoD4:MW which is the last great one IMO, and that's because besides having a great campaign, it had amazing multi (on PC, didn't enjoy it on my 360 too slow and small). I'd like to see them take it super sci-fi, I'm talking particle beam weapons, glowing missles, plasma repeaters, AND MELEE WEAPONS. With maybe a layer of armor or shielding over your character when you use them that enemies have to chew through first. Hell throw in an alien race. Something menacing and more savage than us that looks cool (like the mimics from edge of tomorrow). D Day style landing against something that will not only shoot you but rip you to pieces? Sign me up. Stuff where they can let their imagination run wild and put their own twist. Then throw in CoD4 PC features for all systems like 48 player death match on any level and dedicated servers, decent graphics (I want a clean smooth picture and 60 frames above all) and I'd pre order after the first trailer. Oh and no exclusive DLC bs. Every platform gets the game and DLC on the same dates. If they want to include exclusive promotions, they can include platform specific skins, characters or other aesthetic items. I'm cool with weapons too, as there is no cross play there is nothing to worry about.

I've picked up every CoD since World at War and I'm iffy about this. There is conflicting word about being a WW2 game or not. Definitely will not get it if it's Black Ops 3, but if it's World at War 2, then it will certainly help my decision. I'm enjoying Advanced Warfare a lot so I may just skip and continue playing that :)

Cal of Duty is overpriced garbage. The dlc is basically mandatory every year, it's full of glitches that never get fixed right, modded controller users who don't get banned and 8 year olds who do nothing but trash talk you while using said controller. Kill it and move on; Activision takes advantage of it's consumers.

Vietnam, Korea,WWI,Desert Storm,Police (like hardline), future versus aliens. There are a lot of areas COD could go into. I prefer COD to BF because I can play a round against bots and not have to wait 10 minutes for a game to load. However I prefer Arma 3 over all of them.

it would be awesome to see ww2 come back again with today's game engines. Smarter AI, bigger maps more detailed maps there's still so many stories to tell, so many battles to replay utilizing new hardware.
I know the Normandy Beach invasion has been done so many times, but I would love to see that done again with these new engines.
