Best Buy is so intensely uninterested in selling PS Vita games that they've dropped the trade-in value of every PS Vita game to a Dollar.
Still more than GameStop.

That's ridiculous. To make matters worse, I just looked at their website, and they are still selling a few pre-owned Vita games for $35.
It's not really surprising. The games just don't sell. As much as I love the Vita, most owners that buy physical are collectors, and there aren't enough to turn a profit.
Yeah I've had the Vita since 2013 and I have 1 physical copy "Freedom Wars" game. So, I could agree with this 100%. I only have this physical because I wanted to "collect" the case hahaha.
Glad I got rid of mine after there were no games being released that appealed to my tastes. Brilliant system, terrible support on sony's behalf, though. It's a shame because that's what's killing the system. Two or three years perhaps? I reckon it'll be obsolete by then.
I never bothered buying physical games for it. All digital.
At that point you might as well sell them yourself on Ebay than get ripped off by Best Buy.
Sony would have been better off sticking with the PSPGo. It seems most Vita owners go the digital route for their games anyways.
Sony would have been better off supporting their system. Digital only is consumer robbery and it showed with the PSP Go's ridiculously inflated software priced and eventual failure. The problem here is not the lack of buyers, it the lack if products to buy.
My Steam library is all digital. 90 Games that I can play on any Pc that can run the game at any time. Digital gaming is certainly not consumer robbery.
The Vita has literally tons of games available, and many of them are very good. The Vita does NOT have a lack of games. It even has AAA quality titles like KZ Mercenary and Uncharted GB that are not even possible on the 3ds (vitas competitor). The main problem with the Vita is that Sony refuses to advertise it. Marketing is essential to make a product successful, and Sony need to realize that. With the huge Vita Library AND Ps4 remote play, Vitas should be flying off the shelves, but thats just not the case.
@biggerboss We havent gotten those AAA games in a while, they got off to a great start with Assassins Creed, Wipeout, Uncharted and Killzone but they didnt maintain that momentum. There arent that many options that cater to the Western audience that arent multiplatform. Its nice to get Borderlands 2 n Lego games but I can get a better experience on a console or PC. I was hoping for Vita exclusives like we got back on the PSP like GTA Stories, MGS, Pursuit Force, Motorstorm, Syphon Filter and more. Such a shame because I really wanted to get one but waited it out for more games but they never came. Im hoping they announce something this year to build up support for the Vita, they sold alot of units when the PS4 dropped so maybe it will breath new life into it.
One of the main reasons the Vita is hurting, in my opinion, is that they actually released new IPs on the vita. Nobody wants new IPs and who ever does has and likes the Vita. What do people buy the 3DS for? Nintendo first party. Established franchises. Mario, Zelda, etc. and even then they get SMT4, Bravely and Fire Emblem, all established franchises. Sony released Grav Rush, Tearaway, Soul Sacrifice, Toukiden and Freedom Wars, some of the best games on the system. All mediocre sales. What are the best selling games on the Vita? Uncharted, P4G, Call of Duty (and COD on it was crap).I bet if they released a GTA themed "Hunting Game" the Vita would fly off the shelves. Also, Why is the Vita so popular in Japan? Cuz every popular anime or character has a vita game\visual novel out for it and they cake. A bunch of Gundam and Miku rhythm games that sell alot. No body wants new IPs anymore. But i'm just bitter. Just venting. ;P
not every one likes GTA i have no problem with it but i would take some thing different btw i own all the GTA from ps3-psp-pc. i just need some thing thats not gta.... gravity rush did sell well btw new IP.
Its an absolute crime how Sony is handling the Vita, as if the lackluster game support isn't enough, they are removing one of its best apps, YouTube, as well as removing its own music service and not updating it with the new Spotify service. The handheld deserves so much more support and success.
Everything Sony makes is sucking other then ps4 n some hdtvs.....they need to sell off everything but them two
There are several things that are killing the Vita. For me personally it is a lack of games that i am interested in. Release a handful of decent JRPGs starting with a remaster of Crisis Core and i know alot of people that will be on it like the proverbial fly on $#!t.
The system has been quietly discontinued and many retailers are also pulling support.
How is this news? Some of the launch games are almost worthless because they're either 3 years old or have been on PS plus. 100% click bait here.
Not sure why this is a surprise. I have owned my Vita since day one, but it is clear Sony has quietly buried this thing. I don't even see them in stores anymore. Sony surely don't need to release anymore handhelds. If the games are not selling why would companies give you high trade in. They are in business to make money. I was hoping for more games like Uncharted but it is clear those days are long gone.
I can't wait to buy this at a bargain bin price of around $100 so then I can play the PS Plus collection of PS Vita games that has continuously grown over the last couple years
The PS Vita is a slept on handheld. I have one and I have yet to run out of things to play for it. Sure it doesn't have big name blockbuster titles coming out every month for it, but the games it does have are quite fun. One thing I like about the Vita is that it has forced me to play games that I would have never played before and I find myself enjoying some of those games more than I thought I would.
THANK YOU!. Someone finally gets it!
