It's war! Senior game designer Jimmy Whisenhunt from Sony Online Entertainment has revealed the developer is 'at war' with a wave of cheaters right now in H1Z1, which has seen a plague of aimbot arrows raining death.
Good. It's always a constant struggle online between devs and cheats so eradication of the problem isn't going to happen. It'll be interesting to see how SOE manage the problem though.
I think it would be funny if they do what Valve did with the Cheater's Lament in TF2. Give all the fair players free content for not being dirty rotten cheaters lol.
It's no longer SOE, it's Daybreak Game Company now. Let's see how they manage under a firm, else I can see PlanetSide, H1Z1 and EverQuest shutting down. @Below Big firms aren't the same as the usual Companies, they are in it for the investment, it it doesn't turn profit, production will cease and assets will be sold to the highest bidders. I hope for the best, as I love PlanetSide! EverQuest being one of the first MMO to gain high fame. Hope everything turns out great, maybe this will make Microsoft remove the walls of anti Cross-platform play.
Why in they name of God would they shut down those games?? what possible reason could you have that would make that statement even remotely sensible?
Aimbots? Oh yeah, that thing those PC master race folks have to deal with.
@Frosty Are you trying to say that hacking isn't an issue on console?
Good. Maybe more developers should do this. That way I can finally get my GTA heists damnit! This is awesome and I REALLY can't wait to play H1Z1
oh the joys of pc gaming. hacking and mods. while i dont care offline with pc games its always used online and if this is whats gonna happen with cross-play then i dont want it.
Eh I think you mean Daybreak games
This is why most new AAA franchises dont even bother with PC, bunch of cheating hacking pirates. Thats not to say the console community is any better, but from a business stand point, pc is a waste of time.
do you realise how pathetic u sound?
I agree, except for the pc is a waste of time!
Suppose we all need delusions to justify untenable positions. Most multiplats go PC so your wrong there, also steam games have no more hackers than consoles. Speaking from experience.
"steam games have no more hackers than consoles" man, you gotta be high as **** to make a statement like tha....oh...never mind. carry on then.
Yea that's a really intellegent rebuttal, 'high as shit' means someone can't make a statement from personal experience. Pathetic sterotypical garbage. Enjoy life being a moron. Also, why not actually say something (like name this hacker ridden steam game) instead of tring to belittle someone, boy I hate cretans like you.
"This is why most new AAA franchises dont even bother with PC". Outside of the big 3's exclusives (some of which we still get even then), we get just about every AAA released. "from a business stand point, pc is a waste of time." And yet it is still universally supported as a gaming platform. Weird that.
How much of a market share do consoles own in the video game industry? Go sit down over there.
Thank god Sony off loaded this pile of crap.
I wish more developers would do this especially in fighting games
Watch SoE become the next Zipper/Liverpool, already people are doing damage control saying SoE was bleeding money anyway and how it is an awesome move cause now Sony can focus on just console games. Lol! You couldn't say a single bad thing about SoE yesterday without being lynched. Today it is going to be open season on them now that they are no longer PS exclusive. See Liverpool, Zipper and Insomniac Games for more examples.
You Sir have just Litt-up the PS fanboy community with that post of truth. H1z1 might be ok, never tried it yet, but if it makes it way to Xbox now I will try it out, but the 2 games from SOE that interested me were DC universe (played it on my PS3 before) and planet side looked cool. I guess i might get a chance to try it now on my Xbox, if I don't have my PS4 by then
