Josh from Bag of Games writes "Although Shinji Mikami’s 1996 PlayStation classic Resident Evil – and the rest of the series’ earlier sequels – may still continue to influence the horror-obsessed side of the video game industry today, mediocre installments like Resident Evil 6 have left Capcom unwittingly betraying the loyalty and trust of numerous longtime fans thanks to their inability to properly guide the series into the modern age.

Aware of their own past faults and failures, however, it seems Capcom is determined to make amends and pay tribute to the scare-infused Resident Evil of the past this year. Re-releasing their 2002 GameCube exclusive remake in glorious HD resolution, Resident Evil HD Remaster finally gives non-Nintendo users an opportunity to experience one of the most well-crafted survival horror experiences of all time.
