I'd be more happy with a loyalty program of some sort, which they're probably already working on after announcing the closure of club Nintendo. If they did have a subscription service then it'd have to be optional and not lock off crucial online services as that would put consumers off (ah, who am I kidding, the Sony and Microsoft bunch fell for it).
