Hardcore Gamer: The moment that budget-minded Wii lovers have been waiting for has finally arrived. While the $10 price tag on Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Punch-Out! was great, nothing compared to getting the Metroid Prime Trilogy for $10.
Just picked up my copy. Haven't played it before, so this will be sweet indeed!! :) For $11 (Canada) and the reviews/comments I've seen, this is an unbeatable deal.
Same here-while I have played each game by themselves I've yet to play trilogy, this game was going upwards of two to three hundred dollars a few weeks back-to get it for a tenner has to be one of the most amazing deals in gaming right now!
OMG you're in for a treat. The first game is my favourite game of all time. It's phenomenal.
Agreed...the first Metroid Prime is also my all time #1 favorite game, just absolutely amazing :)
Me too! Now here's a sexy wallpaper :) http://i.imgur.com/JtxsSCm....
Really gotta pick up a Wii U. I have the Wii But played it like twice, but the Wii U looks awesome. And I can't get enough of Metroid!!!!!
We had a Wii, but fell into disuse with the PS3. Nice thing though, all your games run on Wii U, has probably the BEST GAMES at the moment, all your Wii controllers work on it and they have some seriously great game deals. The PS3 rarely gets used anymore to the point I'd like to get another Wii U, if they stopped tying the Nintendo ID to specific hardware. Pick up an 8GB if you can get it cheaper, along with a USB HD if you don't already own one. Get it this week while you can pick up Metroid cheap :)
@kwandar What controls can I use to play them? I don't like Wiimote, I prefer regular controls.
Wiimote and Nunchuck. Not generally my favourite but in playing a bit of the first game, they work surprisingly well.
Wow, so much amazing gaming for $10.
A trilogy so it's like a three pack of $3.33 games? That's stupid cheap compared to what they go for individually lol.
but...i just bought the wii version... it was expensive....
I am about to do the same but the collectors edition bc I never got it, as well as SMG2 and Punch-Out!...I just prefer physical copies of games.
Wait so to be clear this is kinky compatible with motion controls? There's no way I can play the trilogy with the gamepad or a classic controller?
You have to have a Wii remote and nun-chuck.
No, you have to use the waggle controls to play it, unfortunately. :(
Damn not even for the first two games?( which I played with a GC controller back then!) =\ well time to search around to try to find that damn nunchuck
No you don't. There is no "waggle" in Metroid Prime Trilogy. Only top grade motion controls that work, in fact this might be the greatest example for motion controls superiority to date.
Wonder if Move waggles might be compatible..
Ehh I have bought to many games but this is a steal and would be a waste.
And tomorrow is my payday =] Can't wait!
Buy it... now.
I only ever played the first one on the gamecube bought the trilogy as I heard they were stopping them for the wii and as I'm not a massive fan/skint and heard it was coming out for so cheap I sold my copy straight away ;( £40+ so can't grumble around what I paid for it, my collection is getting gutted this weekend, it hurts, In the last 3 months I've sold my NES, SNES, Sega Master System, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, a spare Gameboy advance, my club Nintendo mario 3ds is currently on eBay and my collection is getting smaller by the day ;( next for the chop is my limited Silver Wind Waker Gamecube ;( nooooo. I need a new job haha. It's all going up on eBay check it out ;) I never thought it would happen but I'm going Semi digital!! ;( whaaa! Haha.
Who know that all the games you buy on nintendo shop from the moment you start downloading are going to by tie to your Wii U serial nº and not to your Nintendo ID,so if you ever sell or break the Wii U say good by to all your digital games! This is the main reason i avoid buying digital games on it,and another reason to keep the phisical versions of my most beloved franchises.Nintendo still haves lots to do in this sector!
Get your facts right about software tied to hardware.. they are tied to your Nintendo network ID .. if something happens to your console you contact to Nintendo and you can get your downloads back
I did hear the 3rd was fantastic I should know having bought it myself but got more into the one on the DS as the controls were amazing on the touchscreen a but from what I hear Metroid prime 3 has some of the best controls around for a FPS, nintendo always get the best out of their controllers can't wait to check it out in the near future, backlog is slowly getting smaller ;) At that price tho it's barely £3 a game here in the U.K barely the price of a kebab and a pint. Sold.
I knew the Wii U is a great investment. $10 for one of the best trilogy of all time is a no brainer.
