Destructive Creations studio announces the start of pre-order sale for Hatred - the game that divided gaming industry and started a loud discussion among gaming and mainstream journalists about the limits of creative freedom.
Lool people trying to justify why they want to buy it. The gameplay actually looks solid. But for me a game needs more substance than just killing people, did it in GTA 1 on the Pc long long ago. Nowadays i need better objectives, story and so on.
The thing is, we all have this tendency towards extreme violence... but we do what we can to keep it in check. Even though there are times when we just want to let loose with no holds barred. When we see things like this game, it worries us, becasue it speak to that urge, and calls to it... ...and that frightens us.
"we all have this tendency towards extreme violence" No, we really don't. If you do, please seek help ASAP.
Finally a game with the balls to just be a damn game. What's wrong with that? Isn't that why we play? To do the things we can't do on a daily basis. I will never understand sports game fans, I mean just go shoot a real ball. You're not Kevin Durant...
hello says Manhunt
Dumb comment of the day Your going to say play this game but people who play sport games shouldn't? Games a game.
The point is that people keep buying the same game over and over indulging in some fantasy. Sports games are the same thing every year but because this game is violent and has no Kevin Spacey story, it gets the AO shut down??? Can we please be a bit more realistic, stop censorship. Stop being terrified of video games. Play them to ESCAPE reality, TRY something new, FEEL something new.
Day one why not!!;)
the existence of this game is absolutely ridiculous
news4you pal :)
So is it a top down shooter or tps game?
Top down shooter.
I find this game to be really interesting. We have played as the good guy for years now. Killing bad guys in all kind of ways. So having the cards turned and being the bad guy I find really interesting. Just like being evil in some games you get a strange feeling of doing something wrong...but at the same time it feels a little good. Playing Hatred is going to be an interesting experience to say the least.I am glad games can deliver such experiences. It's clearly not for everyone. But then again no one is forcing anyone.
Although I agree with playing as the bad guy seems cool, the problem is "the good guys" don't seem to be shooting at the player nearly as often as when we fight bad guys. To say that we simply switched roles and suddenly play the villain means there is a Nathan Drake or a Master Chief or a Marcus Fenix..etc coming after us..... ...which doesn't seem to be happening. In my opinion, this is simply a murder simulator where NOT everyone is against the player. When Drake is killing baddies and killing hundreds of them, they are NOT defenseless, as is the case here. Again, to say the roles are switched is to imply that everyone is against this main character the way enemies are against "good guy" protagonists. And I don't see that being the case.
I play video games from Pix The Cat, Resogun and Fez to God of War Ascension, Dead Space and The Last of Us. It's just another video game...to me. It's awesome to play as a bad guy for once.
Can't wait for it.
Ooooooo I want!!!
If they'd shown stuff like this from the start it wouldn't have been anywhere near as much of a hot topic. It's so stylised and crazy now it doesn't really look much like the original pitch.. It actually looks a lot better as a result too - there's potentially a fun game there, maybe.. Could equally still be terrible but at least it's got an interesting aesthetic.
I will play it and i can see myself going all out.that's what he is doing. But not on the underserved but say like someone killed you're family and you knew where they are, somethings a cop just can't do for you.revenge is a must! i would do life gladly for my family.
I will not be surprised if this game gets iced out from mass media coverage, big YouTuber's as well popular streamers. And in return it's fan base will try to treat it like the interview (In defense) telling everybody they need to play it to release their inner demon before they kill in real life lol it's kind of funny now, I used to have 'hatred' for this shit because it felt like all they were doing is playing off it's lame ass violence to get over without offering really anything that looks like a valuable video game for a story or just for fun, because nothing looks fun about it, graphically the gameplay style looks good but everything else? No. But it's whatever, people can be into it and I'll be into the games I want to play this year :)
none of this takes away from the fact that this game is being made by a bunch of neo-nazi fascists. no one should be supporting this game, based on that alone.
The personal lives of the creators has nothing to do with the game
yes, it does. you can cry freedom of speech all you want, but by supporting this game, you're allowing them to have a voice, which is something they most certainly should not have.
1, i never mentioned freedom of speech, you did 2, they have a voice either way 3, you obviously don't believe in freedom of speech 4, enjoy your trolling
the destruction looks great, also those monologues are great.
I can't see PewDiePie playing this, but Fox News will no doubt do a story on it. Based on the trailer, the game needs more 'diversity', and perhaps TressFX for the protagonist's hair /s
