Ok I want to see Project Giant robot badly though.

LOL_WUT2957d ago

Everyone was hyping up Project Guard which all it ended up being was a mini side game for Star Fox. I'd rather they implement these ideas, without the gimmicky stuff, into a new ip. ;)

"...which features massive robots which can be customised for motion-controlled battles"

The reason is obvious; motion controls in gaming are awful gimmicks that ruin the actual gameplay. The Wii console and its games were a great illustration of that fact. Kinect is another example.

They probably finally realized that the game would have bombed hard, had they continued to throw away money on it. Although the project was clearly intended to show the value of the gamepad, in the end, it would have failed to make any difference in the Wii U's decline.

rjason122957d ago

Yeah right, motion controls (if done right) can immerse you way better than a regular controller can.

Splatoon, zombie U, wonderful 101, cod and star fox says hello

marloc_x2957d ago (Edited 2957d ago )

Yes, and Sony's recent motion-control patents are a complete waste of time as well schiller😒

They had better not "shoehorn" this gimmicky garbage into my vr experience 😉

Nintendo: Wii U and Nintendo 3DS planning (January 2016)

Do not expect to find any new release dates in the charts below! Other than The Legend of Zelda on Wii U listed as a 2016 title (which isn’t all that surprising), there isn’t any noteworthy change compared to the October 2015 planning.

I think 3DS has more titles than Wii U in that table, it has more 3rd party titles.

I can't wait to play the Dragon Quest games for 3DS and the New Zelda U which has been listed as 2016 title again.

The table is missing Yooke Laylee? Why they didnt add it? Strange....

maxleresistant2999d ago

I think Yookai Laylee doesn't have any firm date for now. It's just "end of 2016".
I don't think it's on any console's planning for now.

But you're right that WiiU Owners should have an interest for the release of this game

Moonman2999d ago

OMG yass....they seemed to love N64 nostalgia during the kickstarter campaign...

3-4-52998d ago

* In 2016 I get to play Legend of Zelda U, 3 Fire Emblem games, & Dragon Quest 7&8. = Awesome.

Nine Third Party Wii U Games Listed For North American Release In 2015

Game Informer:
Following yesterday’s financial report, Nintendo has provided supplemental information about its upcoming releases. Among the data are lists of upcoming first- and third-party games for its home and handheld consoles.

There are no significant changes to the first-party lineup. Star Fox, The Legend of Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Mario Maker are on track for sometime in 2015. Devil’s Third is also re-confirmed for an appearance (finally) this year.

Two as yet un-named titles, Project Giant Robot and Project Guard are slated for this year, too. The former of those is planned for the first half of the calendar year.

Unfortunately, there’s no news on Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem. The title is still listed as “TBD.”

I really hope we see SMTxFE at E3 or in a Direct. I know it was mentioned to still be in development last year but I dont want this to become Nintendo's Duke Nukem Forever or FFvs13.

Summons753368d ago

Heck, I would be satisfied if they said they weren't ready to show off the gameplay but gave us an idea of what they concept will be with some concept art. I can understand not wanting to show it off too early (especially with the way some gamers react to differences from reveal to release) but give a little tease. I'm more curious if this will play like an SMT game or like a FE game.

The 10th Rider3367d ago (Edited 3367d ago )

“For a long time, I wanted to create a FE on ours times, on the real world. Imagine a Pegasus that comes from the sky and lands on the Building 109 of Shibuya, Tokyo. I always though that would be incredible. At the same time, I know it’s hard because of how FE is. I visited many companies to express these ideas. When I went to Atlus, I was told that Shin Megami Tensei together with Fire Emblem is what I wanted. So, I soon said that to Intelligent Systems and started this very special collaboration. Oops! I shouldn’t say that the game takes place in the real world. We haven’t announced it, right?” - Hitoshi Yamagami

Set in the modern world.

To me, at least, this also implies it'll play like a Fire Emblem game.

EDIT: And as far as not hearing about it...I believe I saw it somewhere mentioned that the trailer was basically announcing that it exists? Development had just started, from what I understood.

theizzzeee3368d ago

I am hopeful for more. Why? Only one reason
Because Sony and Microsoft want to phase out last gen games this year, but third parties don't want to lose all of the income lost. So there is some chance it will happen.

jholden32493367d ago

Eh, if t ain't exclusive I don't really have any interest in 3rd party games for Wii U. Multiplats are dime a dozen and can be purchased for either of the other 2 consoles, both of which I also own.

ricochetmg3367d ago

That is why they will die.

marloc_x3367d ago

You may want to wipe that up..

Canary3367d ago

I know, right? With a lot of good games and backwards compatibility, it resembles last generation a lot more than the current generation. And thank god for that.

DivineAssault 3367d ago

hope they all turn out well.. Ive invested A LOT of money into my wii u & 3DS.. Im sure a handful at the very least will end up being fantastic

phantomexe3367d ago

Xenoblade makes me want a WiiU.
