Over the past two decades we’ve seen incredible places and done impossible things. But through it all, it’s the characters who have stuck with us – the heroes and villains we still remember 20 years later.
Crash Bandicoot Nathan Drake Spyro the Dragon Ratchet & Clank Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games <3
I commented on the site, but I pretty much disagree with all of it. They have too many multiplat characters, like Ezio from Ass Creed, which was originally planned as PS exclusive, but obviously turned out to be multiplat. He's just as XB as he is PS. Scorpion/Sub Zero I think of SNES/Genesis more than PS. Batman is on everything. And I think there's others. Crash has been irrelevant for like 2 decades. Sure, he may have been the big mascot on PS1, so yea, if we're talking highest peak, he can be #1, because he seemed to be the official face of PS for a while, but he's completely irrelevant now. I think the top icons should be those that stood the test of time, like Solid Snake, who was big on every PS console. Ratchet has like 82 games that usually sell well, so he also deserves to be up there, like #2 or top 3, not 17th. Soon he'll be on PS4, spanning 3 gens as a big title.
No Jak and Daxter?
Jak & Dax, man!! Edit: Just saw how many pages, and how little text, there was on that site. Do not click! We need to stop these horrible lumps of vile trash.
xabmol Yea these 11 pages of clicks with little text is annoying i hope people don't click these articles. So stupid this set up is.
What about the characters in MediEvil, Ape Escape, and The Legend of Dragoon?
Anything PS1, and PS2 is good with me
It would be Nathan Drake. Why? Nathan Drake is a symbol of how the PlayStation brand is "keeping up" or "growing" with the hobbyist and hardcore PlayStation gamer. Unlike Nintendo and Microsoft who keep on going after the kids and casual mainstream pop gamers. PlayStation has grown up from the young Crash & Spyro to Jak & Daxter to more adult subject matters. Who knows maybe because of games like Uncharted, The Last of Us, Heavy Rain, Beyond will bring gaming to be widely accepted as an artform by critics and mainstream consumers in the near future with games like these.
right...... Tharja, Samus, Captain Falcon, Shulk and a whole lot more. At least Nintendo has more than a dozens memorial characters per franchises unlike sony who have a few per franchises.
Kratos,Drake,Crash bandicoot,Joel/Ellie and ratchet for me
Spyro The Dragon will always be my favorite PS Icon. http://www.darkspyro.net/sp...
Crash Bandicoot, Nathan Drake, Joel, Ellie, Kratos, Spyro, Sackboy, Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Solid Snake and Cloud.
My favorites and the ones that got me stuck in the PlayStation ecosystem are kratos naked snake ( big boss ) and parapa the rapper
Why is it so hard for sites to do everything on 1 page?
Good old Bandicoot and Drake for me
I think the Helghast from Killzone are iconic aswell
Uhm, yeah, Jin-Roh was awesome, right...
I don't think you made the point you were trying to make. Both were awesome, so...?
It can't really be an iconic look for the PS brand if it's straight up stolen from another source...
Kratos and drake should have been numbers 1 and 2.
But Crash was literally the first playstation icon
Can't believe anyone would disagree with that
Yeah, I suppose you are right about that.
Spyro and Ratchet and Clank did it for me back in the day. A shame that Sony's lost so many mascots over the years, but in the absence of what could be called timeless icons, it's better most of them were laid to rest in retrospect. I think most of them were just products of their times and more lovable when I was younger, but I'd give anything to see what they could do with a Crash Bandicoot game.
Crash Bandicoot will always be the man for Sony!
I disagree with this list except for number 2, Solid Snake is a PS icon
what you think about Bigg boss??? boring title
I would've placed #7 over #2 personally, but then again, I'd place #7 at #1.
I always related the Helghast to Sony too. Ellie and Nathan Drake come to my mind almost as much. Maybe Kratos is the one who pops up the most.
