Do We Need DLC?

Ryan from Awesome Games writes: 'With pretty much every release on the market offering some sort of additional content at a price, DLC is rapidly becoming one of the most profitable areas of the gaming industry. The question is, though, do we really need it? Is it really adding to our gaming experience if we buy it? And what if we don’t choose to spend our hard earned PayPal balances on it? Are we then unfairly missing out on an aspect of our favourite titles that could, if we’re honest, have been included in the main game?'

lol the horse armor pic from oblivion...the first of an endless stream use useless DLC that people wasted their money on

Oblivion's horse armour will go down in history as one of the worst pieces of DLC to ever be released. ;-)

95% of dlc is overpriced and is sometimes even found on the disc, which isn't even "downloadable". For the most part it's a racket. My hat's off to the Witcher devs for offering so mch for free.

I say unlocks and New Game+ for single player and fighting games while expansions for multiplayer heavy titles.

My friend and I laughed the other day as we read issues of Tips and Tricks reminiscing of how times changed.
