In-Depth: Greenberg Talks The State Of Xbox 360

The console market is more complex than ever before - with machines becoming full multimedia delivery devices, and emerging markets and demographics bringing new types of games and gamers.

Microsoft hasn't been shy about its ambitions to capitalize on all of those areas. Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft's director of product management for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, recently sat down with Gamasutra to discuss Microsoft's progress and plans.

He discussed the Asian markets, digital distribution and the upcoming game creation avenues offered by XNA, the idea of an all-in-one entertainment console, and why Microsoft still isn't competing with Wii.

I don't think he is being entirely truthful, but overall it was a good interview.

QueefyB3423d ago

i think greenberg is going to be fired because he has failed to make the xbox business profitable because of the red ring of death and i think once he gets fired i should apply for his job so i can secretly infect xbox 360 consoles with the t-virus from resident evil what do you think

karlostomy3423d ago

Unfortunately for you and your desperate SDF troll brethren the truth is somewhat different:

with regard to the 360:

with regard to the ps3:

Spin it any way you like, in the end the cold hard truth remains.

SpecialSauce3423d ago

this guy always saying the stupidest crap.

Monty_The_Great3423d ago

i am pretty sure he meant slipping into 2009 because they are talking about 2008.

eagle213423d ago

This man is delusional. He brings up stuff that seems rehearsed. Most questions are answered in an indirect manner. He should keep his mouth shut.

morganfell3423d ago

His mouth is shut. It is the guy with the hand up his rear moving the little ventriloquist lever that won't quit talking.

stormfield3423d ago

Half of his answers weren't even related to the question.

juuken3423d ago

Um...how is Home and Killzone slipping? Home is coming in September at least as a beta and Killzone 2 is coming February 2009.

...You should be fired Greenburg. Your idiocy knows no bounds.

morganfell3423d ago

Depth and Greenberg. It is a violation of the laws of science for these two items to exist in the same dimension.

Silogon3423d ago

Home is coming in September, huh? How about I'll leave the site completely if it does? How about it shows up Mid to late October at the earliest?

How about that?

juuken3423d ago

"SILLY"gon...please tell me that you've pieced your brain together again because you remind me of Humpty Dumpty.

Home is coming the fall of this year. Better yet, Sony will probably release it in September. Sony would have to be JACKASSES not to release this.

karlostomy3423d ago

Stop being so naive and ignorant.
It just makes you look childish and desperate.

He said Home and KZ2 are slipping because of the number of times each of these have been pushed back.
Sure makes for disappointing headlines:

Home:

KZ2:

juuken3423d ago

karl, you blind ass bot.

You would also know that Sony is funding Killzone 2 and they want the game to be perfect. That's why they pushed it back to next year. Also, Home is their biggest project yet and they didn't want to rush it. Sh*t, if you're going to use evidence, then use it right. Perhaps is Microshaft had pushed back their 360, they would have saved that $990 million.

IDIOT!

karlostomy3423d ago (Edited 3423d ago )

The links speak for themselves.

KZ was announced in 2005. We might get it in 2009.
Home was announced in 2006. Delay after delay has pushed it to 2009.

You can make all the excuses you want juuken.
It don't change a thing babe.

If you have time, check this out, it may help you with your cellulite infested posterior....
