Hard to Finish

Matt says, "For the most part, video games are being released constantly during the year. This presents me with a problem because a new game will release that I desire to play, even though I’m in the middle of another game. So sometimes I’ll halt playing a game half way through the story and never return to it. Then another new game launches and the cycle continues. This doesn’t happen all the time, but it does happen more than I’d care to admit. I’m not completely sure why, but sometimes it’s hard for me to play through one game before I start another one."

Solution:

avoid getting caught up in hype for unreleased games.

Appreciate what you already have. . there are people who wish they've got some of the games you're ignoring.

The more time you invest in the games you already own.. the more you appreciate it.

treat yourself to a new game for every one you beat.

Works for me.

yep. this happens when i spoil myself with games. but i try to finish them, mainly by jumping around playing each one little by little or however.

but if its not that good of a game, i dont care about not going back to it right away. i buy too many games, and that is never going to change.

I do that with some games. Eventually, I get back to those games and finish them, unless they suck. Couldn't even be bothered with Watch Dogs and Thief. I may get around to finishing the Killzone Shadowfall campaign. Most of the other games I haven't finished were part of Playstation Plus.

There was a point in my life where I'd purposely put off finishing games with good stories because I didn't want them to end, so I can kinda relate to this article in a bizarre way.XD

Anyways, I know I've got my fair share of back-log; there's just so many games out there that fit my tastes that it's hard to find all the ones that exist, let alone afford them, much less finish all of them.XD

What I do is keep my backlog in the store, rather than buy on release. Avoid lets plays if you don't want spoilers. realise that it's ok to wait, and you will be better off.
